Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive, fun-filled and life-changing leadership training program of Rotary International for community youth leaders, ages 14-30, who have engaged in their field of endeavor which contributed to the cause of humanity. dership potential must attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, workship and camping activities conducted in an atmosphere of trust and respect. the program is usually held over 1 to 3 days in length, organized by Rotarians and RYLA Alumni "RYLArians) at the district level, and paid by the sponsoring Rotary Clubs. For young individuals, RYLA provides the opportunity to build self-confidence, to gain exposure to a variety of issues and people, to meet active community leaders, and to learn valuable information and career skills. For Rotarians, RYLA offers the chance to develop tomorrow's leaders, share valuable expertise, bring new energy to a Rotary District, inspire ideas of service, increase support of community service projects, and bridge the gap between generations. RYLA was adopted as an International youth-related program during the 1971 Rotary International Convention in Sydney, Australia. Rotary International District 3810 has been implementing RYLA since the 1980's. Last Rotary year under the visionary leadership of Chairman Bol Carandang of Rotary Club of Ramon Magsaysay, 50 RYLArians ages 19-30 graduated with fun positive learning experiences. In the words of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, "The Youth Is the Hope of our Future." With RYLA, the youth is armed to reach within their leadership potential so taht the hope of the future can embrace humanity.
