The Strawberry Festival 2026 lit up the streets of La Trinidad today with the Float Parade, cultural dance showcases, and the spirited Drum and Lyre competition. Guided by the theme “Limitless La Trinidad: Heart, Harvest, Harmony,” the day’s events highlighted the town’s creativity, heritage, and youthful energy.

Floats adorned with strawberries, flowers, and Cordilleran motifs captivated spectators, while performers brought indigenous dances such as the Owik Tan Tayaw to llife. The Drum and Lyre competition added rhythm and excitement, with schools and community groups competing in precision and artistry, filling the parade route with festive beats.

Mayor Romeo Salda emphasized that the combination of floats, dances, and music reflects La Trinidad’s harmony of tradition and modernity, reinforcing its identity as the Strawberry Capital of the Philippines.

Happening Now: The Municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet, is celebrating the Strawberry Festival 2026 Civic Parade today, March 18, beginning at 7:00 AM. The parade started at the Commission on Audit, Km6, and is making its way toward the Strawberry Farm Diversion Road. Leading the event is the PNP PRO-COR Marching Band, followed by municipal officials, international visitors, and community organizations. School drum and lyre corps, barangay officials, national agencies, and representatives from the academe, religious, and business sectors are also proudly marching. This annual parade highlights unity, culture, and Benguet pride, drawing thousands of participants and spectators to celebrate the sweetness of La Trinidad’s strawberries.

From March 11–13, 2026, the Cooking Village Contest lit up the Strawberry Festival at the Public Market Grounds. Local chefs and home cooks faced the thrill of the Mystery Box Challenge, transforming La Trinidad’s harvest into culinary masterpieces.

Culinary students Claire Cachero and Laizza Balbuena emerged as CHAMPIONS, proudly representing The Flower Cafe PH and Le Fleur Hospitality and Training Center. Their creativity, skill, and heart wowed the judges and the crowd, proving that La Trinidad’s culinary talents are truly limitless

Fresh Report: Suspicious Bag Temporarily Shuts Down Governor Pack Road
Baguio City, March 15, 2026 — A trash bag left near the ticket booth of a bus company along Governor Pack Road caused alarm among residents and commuters on Saturday night.

Authorities quickly responded, sealing off the busy road to ensure public safety while the item was examined. The bag was later found to contain empty fireworks casings, dispelling initial fears of a more serious threat.

Police confiscated the materials and have launched an investigation to identify who abandoned the bag in the area. After confirming that the site was secure, Governor Pack Road was reopened to motorists.

The incident underscores the importance of vigilance and swift action in maintaining safety in crowded public spaces.
