We welcomed Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) officials, and local government representatives from across Western Visayas during the Governorβs Dinner of the 2026 PESO Western Visayas Congress at Casa Real de Iloilo.
Joining us from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan were Board Member Jo Ann Germinanda, Chairperson of the Committee on Labor and Employment, together with Board Members Rica Jane Garin, Rolex Suplico, and Esara Javier. We were also joined by League of Municipalities of the Philippines Iloilo President Mayor Suzette Mamon, DOLE Regional Director Atty. Sixto Rodriguez Jr., and our partners from different LGUs across the region.
Governor Arthur βTotoβ Defensor Jr. has always emphasized the importance of developing the human resources our economy needs. This is where education, industry, government, and our PESOs must work together, bringing skills and opportunities closer together, preparing our people for the jobs of tomorrow while creating opportunities that recognize and make the most of the talent we already have.
Development knows no geographical boundaries, and neither should our partnerships. Congresses like this strengthen people-to-people linkages, allowing us to share what works, understand each otherβs needs, and connect our people to opportunities wherever these may be found.
Congratulations as well to our Provincial PESO Manager, Maβam Cynthia Dario, and the Iloilo Provincial PESO team for another well-deserved recognition and for successfully hosting our delegates and giving them a warm taste of Ilonggo hospitality.
Let us continue working together to open more doors and change more lives. Because when we multiply these individual successes across our municipalities, cities, and provinces, we strengthen not only our workforce but Western Visayas as a whole.
