Davao City recorded 𝟏,𝟎𝟒𝟓,𝟖𝟓𝟒 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐬 in the first half of 2026, city's highest performance since the pandemic, and a 11% increase from the same period last year.

Since January, Davao City has continued to thrive as more visitors choose to experience our city, our culture, our food, and the warmth of the Dabawenyo spirit.

More visitors mean more opportunities — for our hotels, restaurants, tour operators, local businesses, and especially our small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Every tourist who comes to Davao helps create jobs, support local businesses, and keep our tourism industry moving forward.

Davao City goal remains clear: to bring Davao back to its pre-pandemic tourist arrival numbers and reach even greater heights. And with this strong start to 2026, we know we are moving in the right direction.

Davao City posted a 19% increase in tourist arrivals for the first quarter compared to the same period last year. This marks the highest first-quarter total since the pandemic, reflecting continued growth in visitor interest and confidence in the destination.

These figures are based on submitted data from hotels in Davao City to the Davao City Tourism Operations Office, providing an official overview of accommodation-based tourist arrivals during the period.

This positive trend highlights Davao’s strong appeal—driven by its culture, natural attractions, and ongoing efforts to promote a safe, vibrant, and welcoming tourism experience.

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘

The City Government of Davao is sending 4,000 boxes of welfare goods and 3,000 one-liter bottles of drinking water to earthquake-affected areas, including General Santos City, Sarangani, and Jose Abad Santos, today, June 16, 2026.

A 42-member team from the City Government of Davao, composed of personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the City Engineer’s Office (CEO), the City Mayor’s Office (CMO), the Security Cluster, and other frontline offices, is leading the relief operations today.

This assistance forms part of the City Government of Davao’s support for the ongoing relief and recovery efforts in areas severely affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake last week, which displaced and affected thousands of families across the region.

Last week, the City Government of Davao, in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) XI, supported the delivery of drinking water to earthquake-affected communities. The CDRRMO likewise assisted in the medical evacuation of patients from Sarangani to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City to ensure they received the necessary medical care.
