Introducing the last speaker for the Urduja Debate Seminar, esteemed 𝓜𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓱𝓮𝔀 𝓐𝓬𝓮 𝓐𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓵𝓸 𝓖. 𝓣𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓪𝓷, the President of SPEED-UP: Speech and Debate Guild of Phinma-University of Pangasinan. Renowned for his prowess in competitive debating, Matthew Ace brings a wealth of experience and leadership to our community. Actually, I was forced to do this, so like blame Matthew EME anywaysss; Matthew, the upcoming OBJ of every tournament you'll ever see (wow). His skills are immense and his framing is amazing, just like his on-point tracking and his extensive analysis. He's an all-rounder in every aspect (wow).

Matthew is straightforward, someone who knows how to converse and help people immediately and as fast as possible. His personal comments are like no other. And all of this encompasses his vigor and passion to debate and contribute to the debating circuit. You can see this perseverance in the amount of times he signs me up in cross-trainings without warning, or how he signs himself up as an iron so he can keep benchmarking CO. The impact he's made on me and a ton of debaters is huge.

Personally, he's also the guy you can rely on the most. He makes every conversation and every discussion as comfortable as it can be. This also seeps into prep time, where he makes all his cases accommodating. For me, I can chat with him at any time and he'll be there to accommodate me with anything. He's essentially the funny guy who switches personalities in debating to that oddly accommodating older brother.
All flattery aside, if you want one of the most objective discussions you'll ever hear, Matthew is here.

He's that guy, honestly. Not just as a pinnacle of debating, but also as a friend and as a debate partner. Because as someone who has partnered with him for god knows how much, I can say that every experience I've had with him in debate is worth a while."

If Allain is a Labrador, Lorenz is a Chow Chow. He is kind, humble, and respectful in every discourse, no matter how heated the round is. Lorenz's humility is a guiding force in his mentorship. Rather than asserting dominance, he fosters an environment where learning is a collaborative journey. His willingness to listen and acknowledge different perspectives, no matter how silly my "ambag" is on our case, makes me remember him as a semi-kind debater.

In the very first tourney, Lorenz traumatized us with his layers of meta. Now, we debate in a more close-knit way, and I am glad that I've learned a lot from him—by a lot, I mean his Google Docs format. HAHAHAH.

If you want a cool dude helping you reach your peak, Lorenz is a great partner. In the grand arena of ideas, Lorenz de Claro stands not only as a maestro of rhetoric but as a humble guide, inviting others to join him on the journey of intellectual discovery (but this is just me yapping).

𝐔𝐫𝐝𝐮𝐣𝐚, a legendary figure celebrated in Pangasinan folklore, serves as the inspiration for two concurrent events that will be hosted by the 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧, each with a distinct purpose but united by a common goal: echoing the indomitable spirit of discourse and the art of persuasive argumentation.

𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓼𝓮 𝓽𝔀𝓸 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓬𝓾𝓻𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓼?

• The 𝐔𝐫𝐝𝐮𝐣𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫, scheduled for December 3, 2023, will provide a platform for discourse and learning. This seminar will be hosted here in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, with the goal of creating collective intellectual growth, honing debating spirits, and deepening the art of public speaking and discourse among Filipinos, drawing inspiration from Urduja's legendary strength and intelligence.

• The 𝐔𝐫𝐝𝐮𝐣𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, set to unfold on February 3–4, 2024 in Pangasinan, Philippines, is a quasi-major tournament that will be hosted 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲. This intervarsity builds on the foundations laid during the seminar, encouraging spirited debates and promoting camaraderie among students while showcasing their prowess in argumentation.
