MSU-Buug Table Tennis Team Participates in the 46th Araw ng Diplahan Sportsfest Table Tennis Tournament
Tropical Resort Function Hall, Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay – December 6-7, 2025 —Mindanao State University–Buug Campus proudly clinched the 2nd Runner-up in the Women’s Singles Open Category played by Felicity F. Ribo of the College of Education. The event was organized by the Diplahan Table Tennis Club and the Local Government Unit of Diplahan as part of their founding anniversary celebration.

With the aim of “Promoting Table Tennis as a Recognized Sport in the Municipality of Diplahan”, the tournament brought together SLC 3 table tennis athletes with the following categories: boys and girls 12 years old and under and 17 years old and under, Men and Women Singles, Team Event Mixed and open executive for 30 years old and above of the Division of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Representing MSU-Buug were Felicity F. Ribo from the College of education, Laiza Grace Malinao and Jesamie Arbor both from the College of Forestry and Enironmetal Studies, and Charemie Jane Sugabo from the College of Agriculture, under the guidance of their coach, Prof. Josephine S. Duyaguit. The team showcased remarkable skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Their victory and participation reflect the university’s dedication to promoting sports development, healthy lifestyles, youth development as well as youth leadership.

The participation and triumph of MSU-Buug in this event align with the university’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11(Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

This remarkable achievement not only brought pride to the Sports Development Office and to the University but also reaffirmed its mission to empower the youth athlete. The Table Tennis Athletes and the Sports Development Office expressed our gratitude to the university administration for its unwavering support—especially to the Chancellor, Prof. Sheila G. Magolama, whose leadership and encouragement made this participation possible.

MSU-Buug PE Faculty participated the Mindanao Sports Summit 2025 held at MSU Main Campus on November 6-7, 2025. The event was organized by the CSPEAR of MSU Main Campus in collaboration with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

This summit has strengthened our commitment to promoting sportsmanship, wellness, and excellence.
It was an inspiring and insightful event that provided us with valuable knowledge, practical strategies, and meaningful connections that will greatly benefit our sports programs.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to our Campus officials headed by our beloved Chancellor Dr. Sheila G. Magolama for their unwavering support and for giving us the opportunity to attend the recently Mindanao Sports Summit.

The most awaited event of all time in MSU-BUUG. The spirit of sportsmanship and unity ignites once again as MSU Buug Campus proudly kicks off 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, October 16, 2925 with the theme "𝐌𝐒𝐔'𝐁𝐨𝐠 𝐍𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲, 𝐃𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝐓𝐚, 𝐁𝐚𝐲" !

To officially commence this momentous celebration, the campus was energized and electrified by a lively Zumba session headed by Ma’am Charmaine Arnaiz Manon-og together with the OSPAG members, setting the rhythm for a day filled with energy and enthusiasm! This was followed by a refreshing Fun Run, where every step symbolized endurance, determination, and the drive to finish strong! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

The excitement continued with a heartfelt Message from our Distinguished Guest—the representative of the Department of Education Secretary Sony Anggara, and Pia Cayetano, inspiring every MSUan athlete to compete with passion, integrity, and pride—values that define true champions.

As the highlight of the day, the long-awaited Official Declaration of the Opening of MEDLEMIT 2025 marked the beginning of thrilling competitions, unbreakable teamwork, and unforgettable moments of victory and camaraderie!

🏆 Each match was a testament to the spirit of friendly competition—where victory is celebrated, and defeat becomes a lesson for greatness.
