HOW TO BE AN ALL-WEATHER CAMPER

6. Pinapahalagahan mo ang paa mo
Basang paa = bad trip buong araw.

7. Pinapasimple mo ang lahat
Hindi ito panahon para mag-complicate.
Pag masama ang panahon, mas simple dapat ang pagkain at setup.
Less hassle, less stress.

8. May “living space” ka, hindi lang tulugan
Ang tent, pang tulog.
Ang tarp, pang buhay.
Doon kayo kakain, uupo, magpapahinga—kahit umuulan.

Please be ALL WEATHER READY AND PREPARED!

Here are some guidelines to help you camp comfortably even under rainy conditions!

10 Tips for Camping in the Rain

1. Choose your tent spot carefully
Don’t pitch on flat low ground where water collects. Look for a slightly elevated or gently sloped area so rainwater naturally drains away from your tent. Avoid spots at the bottom of hills or near where water might flow.

2. Set up properly before it starts raining
Once you’ve chosen your spot, set up early. Use a groundsheet under your tent and make sure your rainfly is tight with no sagging where water can pool.

3. Always bring an extra tarp
A tarp gives you a dry space to sit, cook, or wait out the rain. It’s one of the most useful things you can have in wet weather.

4. Pack your clothes in waterproof bags
Assume everything can get wet. Keep at least one full set of clothes completely dry for sleeping.

5. Avoid cotton clothing
Cotton holds water and stays cold. Go for quick-dry or moisture-wicking materials.

6. Take care of your feet
Bring extra socks and a dry pair of footwear just for camp. Wet feet can quickly make things uncomfortable.

7. Prepare for fire differently
Bring reliable fire starters and keep them dry. Store wood under cover and, if possible, build your fire slightly off the ground using a base of sticks or rocks.

8. Keep meals simple and warm
Stick to easy-to-cook meals. Hot food and drinks help keep energy up and improve overall morale.

9. Keep your gear off the ground
Use bags, containers, or hang lines to keep items dry. Set a designated dry area for important gear.

10. Change out of wet clothes quickly
Dry off and change as soon as you can. Staying in wet clothes will make you cold and uncomfortable fast.

---

Rain camping isn’t about avoiding discomfort completely—it’s about managing it well. A good campsite choice alone can save you from half the problems people usually complain about.
