📚Thursday 28 August Humanities Happy Hour at Tonic Bistro with author Carl Shuker.
Shuker is a former editor at the British Medical Journal and the author of six novels, including The Royal Free; A Mistake (which was just adapted into a film starring Elizabeth Banks) and Anti Lebanon.

An evening of Sicilian wine and tapas with Lucas Monge of Del Mundo Imports. Since 1851, five generations of the Rallo family have produced some of Sicily’s finest wines at their Donnfugata winery. In recent years they have innovated winemaking and sustainability practices on the island while showcasing traditional varietals such as Nero D’Avola, Grillo and Zebibbo. Join Tonic and Del Mundo’s Lucas Monge for an exploration of Sicily via wine and antipasti/dessert pairings. $130pp.

Meet Lighthouse Gin Head Distiller, Rachel Hall, at The Runholder this Friday 15th August. The first female Head Distiller in New Zealand, Rachel has been crafting Lighthouse by hand since 2014.

As part of the inaugural Pour & Explore Martinborough series this winter, Rachel will be on hand pouring Lighthouse Gin Original, Navy Strength & Barrel Aged Gin and guiding tastings in an informal, drop-in style setting. Come for a sip, a chat, and a deeper look into what makes her craft so special. Tastings are complimentary.

Tasting sessions are 2.30pm-4.30pm and 6.00pm-8.00pm (drop-in style), however if you plan to stay for lunch or dinner before or after your tasting, be sure to book your restaurant table online at www.therunholder.co.nz/book
