Big news — Analogue Aotearoa is on the move.

After an incredible first festival in Te Aroha, we’re heading to Christchurch in 2026 — co-hosted with the brilliant team at Photosynthesis.

Expect exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, live demos, and hands-on analogue magic.

Then we bring it home to Te Aroha in 2027.

What a weekend!
Analogue Aotearoa has wrapped up after two fantastic days celebrating all things analogue photography — exhibitions, photo walks, talks, workshops, slide shows, 8mm screenings, and even a DJ spinning 78s on a gramophone.

Artists and visitors came from all over Aotearoa to share their passion for the craft. A huge thank you to everyone involved, and to the wonderful town of Te Aroha for hosting and supporting the festival.

What a day!
Yesterday was incredible at Analogue Aotearoa — people and artists from all over Aotearoa came together for photo walks, 35mm slide screenings, talks, exhibitions and workshops spread across Te Aroha. We even had a DJ spinning old 78s on a gramophone (could we be any more analogue?).

And today’s shaping up to be just as big! Alongside Analogue Aotearoa, we’ve got the Arts Under the Mountain Te Aroha Festival happening around town, plus artist Adrian Worsley Historic Creations will be opening his studio to the public.

It’s going to be a massive day in Te Aroha — don’t miss out!

SHARE YOUR OLD SLIDES

Step into our mini theatre - a small, intimate space created especially for Analogue Aotearoa and experience the magic of old slides bought back to life.

We'll be firing up an original 35mm slide projector and inviting you to share your original slides - the ones that haven't seen the light of day in decades!

Relive old memories and show them to family, friends, and fellow film lovers.

All are welcome - no charge

Screening times: Sat 10.30 - 12.00 / Sun 10.00 - 13.00

Join us at this weekend for a couple of days of making and shooting pinhole cameras! As well as a stacked roster of all things analogue. Thanks to Ilford and .r.kennedy_nz we’ll be shooting Ilford Direct Positive Paper to create amazing pinhole photographs. No experience necessary. For more info check out
