What a journey ✨
From opening moments to closing nights, this festival was shaped by so much care, creativity, courage, and community. We witnessed powerful stories, deep conversations, movement, music, laughter, reflection, and connection - all held by an incredible collective of artists, facilitators, audiences, partners, and volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared space, and helped make this festival what it was. The energy, love, and brilliance will stay with us long after the lights have dimmed.

Until next time, we carry it forward🖤

Behind every moment of this festival is a team holding it all together 🖤

From programming to production, logistics to care, this is the crew that made space for the stories, sounds, movement, and connection you’ve seen across the festival. A group of artists, producers, thinkers, and doers working side by side to bring the kaupapa to life.

Deep gratitude for the mahi, the heart, and the shared vision. This is what building together looks like.

An evening shaped by conversation, care, and collective imagining 🖤

Our FutureTense community dinner brought artists, thinkers, and storytellers together around the table; sharing food, ideas, questions, and moments of connection. It was a space to slow down, listen deeply, and sit with possibility alongside one another.

Grateful for everyone who showed up with openness, generosity, and heart. This is what building futures together can look like.

Obsidian&Seen in moments 🎬✨

A night of powerful images, shared stories, and Black creative brilliance on screen. From intimate reflections to bold cinematic visions, Obsidian&Seen brought together filmmakers, artists, and audiences to witness the depth and diversity of Black storytelling in Aotearoa.

Thank you to every artist who trusted us with their work, and to everyone who showed up, leaned in, and stayed for the kōrero.

So much of this festival was made possible through collaboration 🖤

We want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank our partners for the trust, the support, and the shared commitment to Black creativity, storytelling, and community.

Your belief in this kaupapa helped create spaces where artists could be seen, heard, and celebrated. We’re deeply grateful to walk alongside you in this work.

Thank you for backing the vision and helping bring the Aotearoa Festival of Black Arts to life.
