What a day we had for the final event in the series on Saturday☀️
The event celebrated the energy and talent of local Māori and Pasifika performers and creators, who proudly shared their art and culture in Basque Park alongside Uptown AKL creatives.
From the moment things kicked off, people were connecting, eating, and enjoying an eclectic lineup.
From ancestral sounds, to the soulful tunes of Hina, through to the fresh young talent of the Kiribati Rodney Community Youth group. The energy then lifted further with Te Riri O Te O Dance Group, drawing an excited response and a full dance floor, before Sandy Mill rounded out the day with her genre-blending tunes, including an impromptu jam session.
With more food and beverage options on offer this time, queues stayed short, and there was a delicious variety to enjoy throughout the day.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, took part, and helped make it such an energetic and memorable day.
Thanks to Uptown AKL for sponsoring the event and to Waitematā Local Board and Cross St Music Festival for their support.
