Otamatea Day Camp This is the page to get all the details on OTAMATEA DAY CAMP 2026- a 3 day bush adventure for 6 to 12 year olds from Matakohe to Brynderwyns!

It's happening again in 2025! Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday April 14, 15 and 16 - the first week of the school holidays, send your kids along to DAY CAMP! REGISTRATIONS OPEN AT 12PM ON MARCH 20! Please note this camp is for kids who live from Matakohe to Brynderwyns. This is such a popular camp, we would hate to have local kids missing out. Please do not apply or try to register if you are from ou

tside of this catchment area. Otamatea Day Camp is put on by the churches of Maungaturoto/Paparoa/Ararua to share the message of Jesus Christ with kids in our area. Parents are more than welcome to come too! Join us for a coffee and a biscuit in the volunteer tent. The cost of the 3 day camp is set for 2025 at $30 per child. Buses are available to get kids to the camp site - more info about that on the registration forms when they become available (20 March). Please note that due to catchment area changes, there is no longer a bus from Mangawhai/Kaiwaka. The day usually kicks off around 9.30am and finishes around 3pm, except on the last day of camp which ends with a family BBQ. Days are filled with building bush huts, doing various activities and electives, sports, cooking sausages over an open fire, singing in the big tent, getting dirty...all that good kiwi stuff! TEEN LEADERS - Teenagers are also invited to apply to be "Teen Leaders", please email Julia at [email protected] to be sent an application form. Teen leaders are required at the training day, happening the Saturday before camp (12 April, from 10am to 3pm). There is no cost for teen leaders. This is a popular camp that has been running for many years! We'd love to have you with us!

We had our SET UP AND TRAINING DAY today with our amazing teen leaders! We're privileged to have so many enthusiastic helpers on board!
Despite the rain, we got heaps done and spent time working as a team and getting to know each other.
Camp starts tomorrow, come prepared for wet weather and let's get ready for a great time!

1 DAY TIL DAY CAMP 2026!
Otamatea Day Camp kicks off this Wednesday at 9.30am.
We will be going ahead rain or shine! 🌧️☀️
We suggest sending your kids along with a rain jacket and sun hat - named if possible, to help keep lost property to a minimum!
We are looking forward to having some good, messy, outdoor fun together!
