I Love Brighton - Annual Event

**UPDATE**
The I ❤ Brighton Event organising committee have made the decision to not run the event on Waitangi Day in 2025. There are ongoing discussions around committee member capacities, size of the event, cultural considerations, public holiday complications and appropriateness of the venue. The committee will reconvene in the new year to discuss the future of the event and a survey will be created for feedback.

** Save the Thomson Park Fort **
We stand with other locals and community groups to ask for a 'like-for-like' replacement fort at Thomson Park. The suggested plastic replacement is not comparable, and we can do so much better if we put some design and effort into it. It's always busy at I Love Brighton, and we know we can do better! We're calling on the council to stop the current plan, listen to the locals, and design something our area and local families will use a lot and be proud of. New Brighton locals are angry their popular fort-playground is being replaced by a "boring" modular kitset model.

One good news story post-event was the devastation of someone's losing their new wedding band in the middle of the grass fields trampled by thousands of people, to the joy of someone finding and returning it! Friends spent hours trying to find it so a massive thank you to the honest finder who handed it in!

Also Final call for other lost property from I Love Brighton 2024. Pick up from reception at Grace Vineyard Beach Campus in the next 7 days.

We missed the change to do a pre-event shout out to Amplify School of Music, they were great on the day! Amplify is a Youth Alive Trust programme that aims to provide young people with the opportunity to learn, create and share in musical experiences. It offers a variety of programmes at schools and on site at our School of Music including -
