We’re excited to welcome Papaiti Gin to the Marton Market Day

What began as a spontaneous move from Wellington to Whanganui and a pear orchard overflowing in their new backyard, turned into something special.

Nikki and Adrian looked at those trees and asked, “What if?”

What if we started our own distillery?

What if we captured the smell of pears on a sunny autumn morning?

What if we bottled the feeling of harvest, connection, and shared laughter?

That curiosity grew into Papaiti Gin, a small-batch distillery where everything is done on-site. From recipe development to redistillation, bottling and labelling, they craft each batch using mostly local botanicals, many grown or foraged by hand. Nothing rushed. Nothing mass-produced. Just thoughtful, creative distilling rooted in place.

Their gins celebrate the land, the orchard, and the community around them and three years in, they’ve become a Market Day favourite.
