Wine Run
Information for Saturday
Event Information:
Wine Run at Rossendale Wines is an event with a difference. This will give you the view from inside of a working Vineyard and an opportunity to taste the wines of the Vineyard and a couple of others, it is so different to other fun runs, marathons, triathlons or obstacle course runs/walks and the only of its kind in New Zealand.
It is, you and your teammates enjoying the tastes of the vineyard as you run or walk by. How fast it takes you to do the 5km or 10km run/walk is totally up to you, the 5km or 10km may vary from your GPS, as the km's are wine km’s, some km’s go faster than others, some maybe shorter, some may be longer it all depends on how much you've tasted or how long you legs are.
Like all good runs there is a cut off time and yours is 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the 10 Wine km, previously the event was 5 or 10km.
We reiterate that Wine Run is NOT a race and never been one, take your time and enjoy the fruits of the vineyard.
Throughout the run/walk at approximately every kilometre there will be a wine tasting along with cheese and crackers. There will be Sparkling Water and Electrolyte drinks at all tasting stations to keep you hydrated. We reiterate that the wine is not compulsory, but enjoyable.
The wine will be served in 35ml plastic cups and the sparkling water in cans and electrolytes in bottles These are all recyclable and rubbish bins will be throughout the vineyard..
