Hi folks! Another CANMOD update for you all. We are getting close!

The Programme:
Thursday 8th: Steaming bay will be open in the afternoon for early arrivals.
Friday 9th: Steaming bay and clubrooms will be open at 9am for folks to collect lanyards. Public running 1pm to 4pm.
Saturday 10th: MEANZ AGM in the clubrooms starting at 9am. All welcome. Official opening of our new track at 12-noon. Public running 1pm to 4pm. Traction engine parade 1.30pm. Yacht race 2.30pm. Official photo and yacht race cup presentation 4.30pm. There will be a BBQ in the evening.
Sunday 11th: MEANZ Auditor’s Meeting in the clubrooms starting at 9am. Public running 1pm to 4pm. Traction engine parade 1.30pm. Power-boat timed sprints starting at 2.30pm.
Monday 12th: Ashburton or Mcleans Island.
Tuesday 13th: Mcleans Island

Registration
To register, deposit $10 into the Club’s bank account (03 1703 0032951 00 Canterbury Society of Model & Experimental Engineers) with your family name and “CANMOD”. Send an email to [email protected] with your details and the names of
other immediate family members who will need lanyards. Each person paying $10 will receive a metal CANMOD 26 badge.

Hi folks! Abit of a long-awaited update...

The Dates: 8-11 January 2026
Registration: OPEN! Email your info to [email protected] :) Please include information on any equipment you intend to bring, and if you are interested in either of the Post-Convention events.... Boats, Traction Engines, and Trains all welcome!

Our track details:
Over 1km of 5" and 7 1/4" gauge Ground Level Track. We are hoping to have our new extension loop ready for use!
270m of 2 1/2", 3 1/2" and 5" gauge Raised Track.

The Plan:
Thursday 8th, registration and track open from Midday.
Friday 9th, registration and track open from 9am.
Saturday 10th/Sunday 11th, track open from 9am, public running 1pm to 4pm.

Post-Convention events:
Ashburton (2 1/2", 3 1/2", 5" gauge Raised Track) Monday 12th
Mcleans Island (7 1/4" Ground Level) Monday 12th plus Tuesday 13th.

Keep an eye out for more details as they confirm. It is a small-scale event, so its going to be a pretty casual affair.

Well, things are ticking along. Being a much smaller event, there is alot less to organise!

If you are interested in attending, simply email [email protected] with:
Your name in the subject line.
Who is coming.
What equipment (if any) you are bringing.
What days you are interested in attending.
If you are interested in post-convention runs at Ashburton (2 1/2", 3 1/2", and 5" gauge track, plus ample room for road vehicles) or Mcleans Island (7 1/4" gauge track, plus ample room for road vehicles).

Keep an eye on the page here for more info, and DEFINITELY start planning/booking accomodation/travel.
