One Love Dannevirke is a community festival hosted by churches of Dannevirke to celebrate 200 years of God’s love for New Zealand. It is PARTY for the whole community, featuring live music, entertainment, rides, food, and an opportunity to find out about the stories of our community and country. YOU'RE INVITED! Pastor Greg Motu from the Dannevirke Ministers’ Association says, “The churches wanted
to celebrate 2014. It was 200 years ago in 1814 Samuel Marsden preached the first sermon in New Zealand. We want to invite the whole Dannevirke community to celebrate, so all the rides and entertainment and some of the food is free! You don’t have to spend anything. Just come and have fun!”
CENTRE STAGE will feature live music and entertainment from Dannevirke’s finest performers and other NZ artists. KIDZONE will offer FREE face painting, craft activities, three bouncy castles, a puppet show, rides and merry-go-rounds. There will be rides for the bigger kids too, including a mechanical bull and a climbing wall. Just in case you need an energy boost and to keep the kids happy, there is a FREE sausage sizzle. For seniors and parents with babies, there is a FREE cafe where you can enjoy the fun while having a break with a cuppa. There will also be a mini market with more food and goodies for sale. During the festival, writer and historian KEITH NEWMAN will host a forum in the Hub seminar room to reveal Dannevirke’s and New Zealand’s forgotten Christian heritage. Then a bit later in the afternoon OWEN POMANA from Hawkes Bay will share his story. Pastor Greg says, “Owen is an inspiring man; he has an amazing story to share - from being down and out in Australia’s underworld and then transformed into a globetrotting motivational speaker, people will be captivated by his story.”
The celebrations continue on SUNDAY, when there will be a combined church service, 10:30am at the Hub. Everyone is welcome. Guest speaker Keith Newman will share more of God’s AMAZING STORY in the history of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Media Contacts:
