From mid-January 2027, a flock of ewe-niquely designed Shaun the Sheep sculptures will pop up across the city for 10 weeks, proudly supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Christchurch.

🐑💗 Shaun’s gone pink for Pink Shirt Day!💗

Our woolly wee mate might be known for a bit of cheeky mischief, but today he’s standing tall, thumbs up and all, with a message that really matters: bullying has no place in our paddock, our kura, our communities, or anywhere tamariki and rangatahi are growing up.

Pink Shirt Day is all about speaking up, standing together, and spreading kindness, and that’s a kaupapa The Big Sheep Trail is proud to stand behind.

Every taiohi deserves to feel seen, valued, supported, and safe to be themselves. That’s why The Big Sheep Trail is supporting the life-changing mentoring mahi of Brothers Big Sisters Christchurch, helping ignite the power and potential of young people across Ōtautahi.

So here’s Shaun’s challenge for today: speak up, stand together, and spread a little extra kindness. A small act of care can make a mighty difference. 💗

Attention local schools and community groups!

Registrations of interest are now open for the Big Sheep Trail School’s Programme, where schools and community groups are invited to put their hooves up and let us know your tamariki and rangatahi want to design and paint a Little Shaun sculpture.

It’s a creative, colourful and baa-rilliant opportunity to be part of something special for Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Demand is expected to be high, so registering interest does not guarantee a place in the programme as we want to give a wide mix of schools and community groups the chance to be part of the fun - we’ll consider every registration of interest with care.

We’ve found the perfect partnersheep! 🐑🤝🐑

We couldn't be prouder to announce Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, as the official Presenting Partner of The Big Sheep Trail.

Together, we’re bringing this free, fun, and fabulous adventure to Christchurch for 10 weeks from mid-January 2027.
