A quieter week on the calendar, but there's still plenty happening at The Trots this weekend 👇

🤠 Cambridge | First race 4.52pm

Boots and Bets returns to Cambridge Raceway with a country-themed night featuring live music, western-inspired dining, spot prizes, and plenty of racing action. Dress up, grab your mates, and settle in for a fun Friday night trackside.

🌃 Addington | First race 5.03pm

Friday Night Lights brings together live racing, great food, and a buzzing trackside atmosphere. Enjoy a casual night in Spectators or make it a full evening out with Trackside Dining's South American-themed buffet.

☀️ Addington | First race 12.21pm

Free Sunday racing returns with a relaxed afternoon of harness racing, food, and family-friendly atmosphere. The Trots team will be on the Spectators Lawn from 1pm–3pm with lawn games, giveaways, and a chance to find out more about the sport.

Curious about the trots?

If you've ever wondered what a day at the races is actually like, come and say hello this Sunday at Addington.

With racing on throughout the afternoon, we'll be set up on the Spectators Lawn with games, giveaways, friendly faces and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn more about harness racing.

Whether you've never been before or you've only experienced the big race days, this is a relaxed way to discover what The Trots is all about.

Some horses leave their mark on the track. Others become champions in entirely different ways.

Macklemore, better known as "Mackles", never raced, but he's become a standout ambassador for the breed in the show ring, recently taking out the In-Hand section of the HRNZ and NZ Standardbred Breeders' Association competition alongside owner Davinia McDonald.

From a highly-strung show horse to a much-loved member of the family, their story is a great reminder of the versatility of the Standardbred and the opportunities available after racing.
