Future of Work Marlborough

Another FOW Explore opportunity for rangatahi to get out of the classroom and onsite to experience the workplace, this time with a visit to Omaka Airfield.

Visiting a variety of aviation businesses, students from Marlborough Boys' College gained an insight into what a career in aviation could look like, and the different pathways available to them.

Thank you to everyone who helped facilitate the visit and shared their time, knowledge and stories with the students.

As an extension of Future of Work, we created FOW Explore, an opportunity for rangatahi to get out of the classroom and onto the job site to see what a career in that industry could actually look like.

Today, the awesome team at Fulton Hogan Marlborough hosted a group of students from Marlborough Boys' College, giving them a first-hand look at the work they do. Tua and the team shared the variety of roles across their industry, what it takes to deliver a project, and what goes into revamping a C*D.

And it didn’t stop there. The students were treated to lunch at Market St Cafe, another great way Fulton Hogan is supporting local C*D retailers.

Thanks so much to Tua, Vonny and Eva for giving the students your time and sharing what you do.

It was so great to have Steph at Future Of Work sharing experiences of working in a butchery. The VR headset giving rangatahi the opportunity to actually 'butcher' was an added bonus!

Thanks PAK'nSAVE Blenheim for supporting our event.

Yesterday our General Manager, Meg, spent the day at the Future of Work Conference.

She got to speak with hundreds of Marlborough’s rangatahi and promote volunteering as a pathway to employment, building skills and experience along the way.

Big thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for their hard work in organising this day and the valuable connections it provides!

Also massive thanks to the Rapid Relief Team for keeping us all so well fed throughout the day!
