For someoene who has had a taste of this fun will forever be longing for it. No matter where we are physically....the heart (mind) always wanders in our homeland during this time. The sound of dhak, the fragrance of dhoop and dhuno...the entire aura beckons you to a completely different heavenly world! I can go on describing the little things attached to the huge celebration, but let's keep this s

imple. For all people who are aware of what I am talking about....whether here or not...here's wishing you all a very Happy Durga Puja in advance.....but Hey, wait! Before we get submerged completely in the Halo Effect of the upcoming festivity, we have to keep in mind that Durga Puja is approximately a month away and as we are busy gearing ourselves up for the same, I would like to gently remind you all to step forward and let me know if you are interested in getting involved in any of the performances during the aforementioned occasion (namely singing – both solo and chorus, dancing, recitation, short plays, conducting quiz and even hosting the events! The dates for and other details for Durga Puja, 2016, are:

The primary goal of Nandan is to make Bengalis feel at home, located thousands of mile away from their mother land. To achieve this end, Nandan proudly remains the sole organization which organizes most of her events as "Free Entry to All" with no discrimination between members and non-members. Throughout the year, Nandan organizes several cultural, religio-social programmes like Independence Day, Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja,Saraswati Puja, Annual Picnic, Poila Boisakh etc. Also every year we organize our own 'natok' (drama) which is enjoyed by our members and non-members alike. The founders of Nandan visioned an organization which will act as a platform to harbour new talents and nourish the old ones. Hence if you feel you have a talent which you want to showcase, we are more than happy to offer you our support. Be it writing, recitation, singing or dancing,make us known of your ablities and who knows you may even get featured in our next event.Hence for all Bengalis abroad here in Auckland - New Zealand - Nandan is a household name which is associated with our daily life and brings the fun and enjoyment to our social life in this country.
