Meet the Pipes & Drums of Christchurch City! 🎶🏔️

We are counting down to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Auckland by spotlighting the exceptional bands set to take the stage. Since forming in 2009, the Pipes & Drums of Christchurch City have built an impressive record of Tattoo appearances, uniting talented pipers & drummers from across Aotearoa under the iconic McKenzie tartan.

From rehearsals in idyllic small towns framed by snowcapped mountains to performing on some of the world’s biggest stages, they bring both heart & world class experience. They made their international debut before Queen Elizabeth II at the Windsor Castle Royal Tattoo in 2010, and have since appeared in ten Tattoo productions across Europe, North America, Australia & New Zealand.

Many of their members compete in leading national competition bands, a pedigree reflected in the quality, cohesion & professionalism of every performance.
