Jazz Maastricht brings Jazz to the city, Limburg and the Euregion Meuse-Rhine, always searching for the best projects, activities and collaborations to bring the main Jazz-ingredients to society. These ingredients are Communication, Innovation and Improvisation;

Unique for any musical style. They make Jazz a powerful tool for inclusion, participation and joy for society.

Last Friday we enjoyed a beautiful evening with Jo Didderen & L’Equipe de Rêve ft. Robin Eubanks. From intimate moments to energetic bursts the audience was effortlessly carried along on their musical journey. 🎶

🌟 Jo Didderen & L’Equipe de Rêve ft. Robin Eubanks | THE POP-UP JAZZCLUB 🌟

Op 24 april

L’Equipe Lab, geleid door de onvermoeibare bassist, Jo Didderen is een 'kleine bigband' bestaande uit topmuzikanten, met wortels in Nederland/Limburg, België en Duitsland.

Deze veelgevraagde instrumentalisten uit de jazz-scene hebben het podium gedeeld met grote namen als Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny, T***s Thielemans, Gregory Porter, Patti Austin, Benjamin Herman, Eric Vloeimans en Rowwen Hèze.

Onder de naam Jo Didderen & L’Equipe de Rêve heeft dit ensemble de afgelopen tien jaar vier albums uitgebracht, vol met vrolijke jazz voor hart, hoofd en voeten. Dansbaar, maar ook geschikt om rustig naar te luisteren. Toegankelijk, maar toch diepgaand.

L’Equipe Lab swingt, verrast, sust, inspireert, explodeert en troost. Alles is mogelijk,
de enige aanwijzingen die ze volgen zijn 'Toutes Directions'. Waar ze uiteindelijk terechtkomen, ontdekken ze onderweg.

'Put on your dancing shoes', en geniet van de sprankelende, vrolijke, instrumentale muziek van deze acht-koppige jazzband met als speciale gast, de wereldwijd vermaarde, Amerikaanse trombonist, Robin Eubanks!

Last Friday at the Pop up Jazzclub, Munsch took us on a journey ✨

Blending raw energy with subtle nuance, the band held the audience from start to finish, with powerful melodies, rich textures and a constant sense of exploration that makes live jazz so compelling. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this intimate and intense night 💛

🌟 Munsch | THE POP-UP JAZZCLUB 🌟

Op 20 maart

De warme en verrassende band Munsch creëert een klanklandschap waarin rauwe energie en delicate nuances samenkomen, met krachtige melodieën en een onophoudelijke verkenning van ruimte en textuur.

Dit geestige Belgische trio verlegt met opmerkelijke virtuositeit de grenzen van hun instrumenten. De ongewone combinatie van instrumenten neemt je mee op een muzikale reis, een ervaring die je niet snel zult vergeten. Ontdek de magische samensmelting van trombone en accordeon, gedragen door meeslepende percussie. De Luikse muzikanten waren het hoogtepunt van Leuven Jazz en kregen een staande ovatie van een internationaal publiek. Onlangs werkten ze samen met de beroemde Marokkaanse multi-instrumentalist Mourad Beloiadi. Het geluid van Munsch opent je hart, grijpt je bij de keel en voert je mee naar intieme en klankrijke landschappen.

What an evening. What talent. What energy. ✨

Last Thursday we celebrated the magic of live jazz together during the Maastricht Jazz Awards 2026. Talented artists, original sounds, a full house and an atmosphere that will resonate for a long time.

Thank you to all the performers, jury members and everyone who joined us 🎷

And the winner is...

Grand Prize winner: Maastricht Jazz Collective took us on an intense musical dialogue where Balkan ethno jazz seamlessly blended with Western jazz. Layered, energetic and deeply expressive, a more than deserving Grand Prize winner.

The audience also made their voices heard.
Public prize winner: Woodpecker’s Quintet touched the room with their warm, sincere sound and palpable joy in playing. A heartfelt performance that earned them the Audience Award.

Congratulations to both winners and thank you to everyone who made this special evening possible. 💛
