Freshly graduated from St. Joost Breda, Sifanie's () work mainly consists of original stories, illustrative art and printmaking. She now presents her latest project.It all started with a question. What kinds of love are there? Sifanie takes inspiration from manga and puts a familiar style into intaglio images. She hopes to take you further into her world of characters with a light novel accompanying her work. The story represents modern love with diverse characters in dreamy illustrations. It is written for people who seem to have lost focus on what makes them happy and aims to inspire them to find love again. The project is an expression of Sifanie's love for fiction and intaglio, brought together in the form of an illustrated novel — for comfort, reflection, and the joy of watching love unfold.

iZaak iMAGEry (he/him) is a multi-disciplinary artist who is fascinated by researching traditions, observing unwritten rules and rituals, questioning what is considered common knowledge from the fringes of society and turning that into an image.

“Why do people do the things they do? What are their unwritten rules and rituals ? How can I help people to become more aware of their behaviour, which can then make them happier?“

At the first Daydaygay in 2017 iZaak presented a project about not fitting into the LGBT+ Community by viewing traditional Eindhoven Folk Stories through a q***r lens. He found a treasure trove of q***rcoded stories about location, masking, being in tradition and exploring the niche where the creatures of folklore fit in. For Cocktales, he presents renewed insights, visuals and ideas about this project.

The artist's work uses colourful elements he experiences in the shades that often shape and bond more than in the perceived light. iZaak intends to show there is nothing to fear in what we cannot see, there is instead interconnection to discover.

Maybe Boozegeoisie (they/them) is a genderq***r drag royalty challenging the status quo. You may know them from the Drag Up Family or as a Special Manager from Academie voor Beeldvorming where they use drag as a tool for research. With looks, appearances and stories they connect with people and the urgency for change. For Cocktales Maybe welcomes you to a live make-up tutorial masterclass. A walk-in performance with tips, tricks and weirdness for everybody. Expect colourful looks, experimental materials and lots of serendipity!

On Saturday 25 October we will once again open our doors for the seventh edition of ‘Cocktales’!

Cocktales is an art event and stage. A small, inclusive cultural festival where artists and visitors can be seen. We are a presentation space with room for experiment and research. The artists are emerging, diverse q***r talents from the region and beyond.

The seventh edition is the third Dutch Design Week edition, which means we once again have an extra long program for you. It has two parts: In the afternoon you can come and see visual work by Izaak Imagery and Sifanie Johanna. We will also have an arts and crafts table! Nothing says ‘q***r’ or ‘punk’ like ‘diy’ so bring out your inner designer and make your own buttons and tote bags! Decorate your jacket, crop your top and spark your sparkle!  

The performance program will take place in the evening, just like in previous editions. With a performance by Maybe Boozegeoisie and lecture by Izaak Imagery and we can’t forget the cocktails! We will end the evening with a drink and a dance and the records spun by DJ 2dB.

Emily Janneke (She/They) is a poet and video-artist who uses poetry and art to navigate life as a q***r disabled creative, attempting to understand their life and where they fit in a world that isn’t built for them. Their work explores themes of identity, mental illness, q***rness and imagination through a combination of visuals and language in order to puzzle together and express what is happening in their brain.

Rik Verhalle (he/him) is a storyteller, tour guide, ex-architect and all round Eindhoven enthusiast. He works at Brainport and has been involved in the Eindhoven q***r scene for years, organising the Q***r Salons and first Eindhoven Pride for starters. Expect insightful anecdotes and fun stories.

Eric the Dragking was born in 2021. ‘My dream is to live in a world where people living with HIV are healthy citizens free from stigma. The art of dragtivism gives me the freedom to embrace who I am and to show that I am much stronger than the tiny virus. So join me and dance HIV stigma away!’ Eric the Dragking holds the title of ‘Mr Poz Artivist 2024’ in Ireland and is the winner of Superball 2023, the biggest drag ball of Europe, with his draghouse ‘Lost Bois’.

On Saturday 12 April we will once again open our doors for the fifth edition of ‘Cocktales’!

Cocktales is our art stage, providing a safe space to our artists and community. A small, inclusive cultural festival where artists and visitors can be seen.

It’s the season of the birds and the birds and the bees and the bees. New bodies claw their way out of the earth. During this edition we look at various aspects of physicality. Every body is valuable. With visual art by Qiaochu Guo, performance by J (Eindhoven Ballroom), the erotic animation film 'Melk' by Niek de Leeuw and of course the cocktails! We end the evening with a drink and a dance and the music of DJ Space! Boy!

We are a presentation space with room for experiment and research. The artists are emerging, diverse q***r talents from the region and beyond.
