𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬! 🤝 
The European Transplant Games 2026 would not have been possible without your commitment, trust, and support. Together, we delivered an inspiring event that touched thousands of people and demonstrated the impact of sport and physical activity after transplantation or during dialysis. 
 
With the ‘Dutch approach’, we raised the bar: compact Games, strong collaboration with local and national sports organisations, hundreds of dedicated volunteers, well-organised competitions, inspiring side events and congresses, and close cooperation with dozens of health foundations, social organisations, and (academic) hospitals. 
 
Together, we also achieved extensive local, regional, and national media coverage, powerful photo and video content, and high-quality sports facilities and venues. 
 
A week in which the stories of nearly 1,000 participants from across Europe came to life. A week that showed clearly: there is life after transplantation. And a call to everyone living with a transplant or chronic condition: make sport and physical activity part of your life. 
 
Thanks to your trust and collaboration, we achieved acceleration and lasting impact, and showcased what the Netherlands, and in particular the province of Gelderland and the city of Arnhem, are capable of. 🧡

𝐹𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑑𝑜, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑚𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠.

That is what the 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 are all about: celebrating life, embracing every opportunity, and showing what is possible after transplantation. 🧡

From 21–27 June 2026, Arnhem proudly welcomed organ and stem cell transplant recipients and people undergoing dialysis from across Europe for a week filled with sport, connection, and unforgettable memories. Together, we celebrated the Gift of Life and demonstrated the life-changing impact of transplantation.

As we look back on this extraordinary week, we hope these memories continue to inspire people across Europe and beyond, demonstrating the power of transplantation and the important role sport and exercise play in living a healthy, active life.

Because life after transplantation isn’t just possible: It can be extraordinary. ✨

The European Transplant Games 2026 have officially come to an end, and what an incredible week it has been. 

It was a week of inspiring stories, unforgettable moments, new friendships, and remarkable achievements. Even when extreme weather forced us to adapt the programme, our focus remained on what was possible. The resilience of our participants reflected the journey so many transplant recipients have taken themselves. 

With 726 participants from 24 countries, competing across 13 sports, together with hundreds of visitors attending our special events, congresses, and social programme, Arnhem became a place where sport, health, and the transplant community came together to celebrate the Gift of Life. 🫶🏼

This event was the result of more than two and a half years of preparation and would not have been possible without the dedication of our organising committee, volunteers, partners, sponsors, venues, healthcare organisations, and public authorities. Thank you for believing in this mission and helping us bring these Games to life. 

Above all, thank you to every participant for sharing your story, your courage, and your passion. You showed Europe - and the world - that transplantation is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities, connection, and achievement. 🌎✨

You are, and always will be, the heart of these Games. 🧡

We look back on a wonderful evening filled with emotion, celebration, and gratitude.
Athletes from across Europe came together not only to compete, but to share powerful stories of resilience and second chances at life. Every performance on the field carried a deeper meaning: a tribute to donors, families, medical teams, and the strength of the human spirit.

One of the most meaningful moments of the night was the handover of the federation flags, symbolising the start of a new chapter for the Games ahead.

As the sun set on the final day, the atmosphere was filled with pride and unity. Medals were awarded, friendships were formed, and memories were made that will last far beyond the closing ceremony.

Though the Games have concluded, the message remains: life after transplantation is not only possible, but full of hope, achievement, and community.
