Distinguished Senator Natasha H Akpoti Uduaghan is expected to return to Kogi Central on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in what supporters have described as “The Amazon Returns.”

The much-anticipated homecoming is generating expectations across the senatorial district, with reports of a possible surprise twist, including anticipated political defections and other unexpected developments.

Although details of the expected developments remain unclear, the possibility of political realignments is adding another layer of interest to the event.

Supporters have also described her as the “Queen of the 10th and 11th,” expressing hope for her continued political journey, should it be the will of God.

Beyond the homecoming, attention will be on the political signals and possible developments that may emerge from the gathering.

VIDEO: Nasiru Abdulrahman Ajayi has made a fresh public appeal to the Kogi State Government, seeking intervention over a spinal cord condition he says he has battled since 2022.

In a video shared on social media, Ajayi said he has continued to await a response after submitting a formal letter at the request of a government official last year.

According to him, despite complying with the directive, he has yet to receive any feedback and is now renewing his appeal for assistance as he continues to seek treatment for his condition.

VIDEO: An Ebira amputee has publicly rejected a ₦1 million financial offer from Kogi humanitarian and political figure, Haj Aishat Oyiza Omade, saying he found her statement accompanying the offer "dehumanizing" and inconsistent with the dignity he believes persons living with disabilities deserve.

The controversy followed Omade's Facebook post in which she advised him to stop "turning himself into a beggar on social media" and instead develop a business plan, arguing that teaching someone to fish is better than giving them fish.

In a video response, the amputee, who says he requires about ₦1.3 million for a pending medical operation, declined the donation and urged Omade to instead give the ₦1 million to another woman battling a serious eye condition whom he believes is in greater need.

He also cautioned against future gifts accompanied by what he described as "ill statements," a response that has since ignited widespread debate on social media over the dignity of charitable giving.

A High Court in Lokoja has dismissed a suit challenging the appointment of Dr. Alaji Mathew Opaluwa as the Attah Igala, ruling that his nomination, approval and installation complied with the customs and traditions of the Igala Kingdom and relevant legal procedures.

Delivering judgment on Wednesday, Justice Etsu Muhammad Umar held that the claimant, Prince Abdullahi Adejo Aliyu Obaje, failed to prove that only direct sons of previous Attahs are eligible to ascend the throne. The court found that the selection process substantially complied with established traditional and administrative procedures, affirming that Opaluwa lawfully emerged from the recognized Aju Ame-Acho ruling house.

The judge also ruled that the judiciary has no authority to appoint or install traditional rulers, emphasizing that such responsibilities lie with customary institutions and the executive. The suit was dismissed in its entirety for lacking merit, reaffirming Dr. Opaluwa's position as the Attah Igala.
