200 guests were invited to a wedding reception; the event time was 4 pm

At 4:50 pm, the venue was empty except for the vendors who had finished setting up and were waiting for the guests.

The Decorator was done setting up the venue
The Caterer had already started setting up her stand
The DJ was playing songs as well
Even the cake had arrived

But not one guest had shown up

The event planner began to panic, and she called the bride… There was no answer
Called the groom as well, and there was still no answer

Then, after a while, the event planner received a text message.

The message came from the bride.......

“Kindly confirm the time my makeup artist would arrive; I wouldn’t want to be late to my own wedding next Saturday”

Turns out, the event planner got the date wrong.

If you were the event planner, what would you do next?

She stared at her bank app with the exact same face she used to study for her exams: pure, unadulterated denial.

It was September 1st. Four wedding invitations sat on her counter, two birthday dinner group chats were blowing up her phone, and then came the wild card, a "casual" baby shower hosted at a high-end rooftop bar where mocktails cost a fortune.

She opened her notes app and typed out the budget to be ₦1,000,000.
A cool million naira, just to exist as a good friend this month.

She tapped her pen against her notebook, trying to make the numbers make sense. Between Asoebi payments, hair, makeup, spray money, and group gifts, that million was evaporating before the 15th.

If she ate only salads for dinner every day until October, recycled one pair of heels across three events, and convinced her bank that rooftop mocktails were a business expense... she might survive.
Or, she could stop doing chaotic mental math and actually take control of her social calendar without going broke.

Swipe to see how we’re cracking the code on surviving event season, without ghosting your friends or living on instant ramen until October. 📲
