Gombe Youth Ambassadors Inaugurated as Early Warning Task Force at Peacebuilding Workshop
Twenty youth and community ambassadors participated in the “Painting the Nigeria We Want – Gombe Peacebuilding Initiative,” a Peace and Security Workshop supported by the Nigerian Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), held at La Bridges Hotel, Gombe.
The workshop brought together community stakeholders, traditional rulers, and student leaders to explore strategies for addressing thuggery (Kalare), communal clashes, and election-related violence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A major highlight was the formal inauguration of the ambassadors as members of the State Early Warning Task Force, alongside interactive discussions and a Sip and Paint session designed to promote peace and raise awareness through art.
The initiative underscores the importance of youth participation, community collaboration, and early warning mechanisms in preventing conflict and strengthening peaceful coexistence across Gombe State.
