PIN INITIATIVE: YEARS OF POETRY FOR SERVICE AND RETURN OF THE NIGERIAN STUDENTS POETRY PRIZE (NSPP)

Since its inception in 2015, Poets in Nigeria Initiative has established itself as a frontline literary hub, driven by poetry. With the Nigerian Students Poetry Prize (NSPP) being its flagship Initiative, it has others like, Cross Country Poetry Celebration of Freedom and Creativity which transformed into Cross Country Poetry Celebration, PIN 10-Day Poetry Challenge, The Glass Door Initiative, PIN Connect centres, The Arthub, Lagos, PIN CHAP BOOK Series, Naija Poetry Slam, PIN Literary Interviews, PIN Punchy Poetry, etc. For logistics reasons, the NSPP was last organised in 2022. On behalf of PIN, I am excited to state that the NSPP is coming back. Against this background, we thank our long time Patrons and sponsors and look forward to prospective sponsors and partners of the initiative which ran from 2016-2022.

COLLAGE, LAGOS - A POETRY EXHIBITION AND SHARED WRITING EXPERIENCE BY OFEM UBI

I am delighted to inform you that Mr. Ofem Ubi will be having a poetry exhibition alongside shared writing experience in Lagos. The project is titled Collage, Lagos.

Attendees-turned participants, will write with him, fill half-filled poems and make them a part of the exhibition.

His first exhibition was held last year in Helsinki, Finland and he is excited to bring the experience to Lagos.

The project goes beyond writing and also features recording for people who would rather record than write. Memories would be shared towards building an archive of intercultural and inter-generational stories.

Ofem Ubi is a poet and artist whose work highlights his interest in the subject of memory and its manifestation beyond the boundaries of the written word.

HANDSOME PLATEAU JOINED AN AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL EDO AS ONE...

It is indeed heartwarming to witness this milestone of one of my sons - Isaac Solomon, who joined in the convivial celebration of poetry, culture and tourism at the Festival Poetry Calabar (FPC).

In congratulating the couple, I wish (Solomon and his dear wife) a fruitful marriage. We will speak to His blessings upon their union.
