MEET OUR BCFF 2025 JURY MEMBER — MURSHIDA ZAMAN

We are delighted to welcome Murshida Zaman, an accomplished author, filmmaker, and human rights activist from Bangladesh to the Benin City Film Festival 2025 Jury Panel! 🇧🇩🤝🇳🇬

Born in Jhalokathi and raised in the cultural heart of southern Bangladesh, Murshida’s journey blends literature, film, and advocacy. A graduate of Eden University, Dhaka, with a master’s in Bengali literature, she has published poetry and fiction across Bangladesh, India, and beyond — and directed several acclaimed short films and documentaries.

She has served with the Dhaka International Film Festival, worked on international film projects in Finland, Norway, and Denmark, and represented Bangladesh at the Human Rights Festival in Busan, South Korea.

Her films, including Repercuss (2024, Denmark), The Mattress (2019), and Impossible Destination (2018) reflect her passion for social issues and the environment.

Murshida’s voice and vision continue to inspire across borders, and we are honored to have her join us in celebrating creativity, culture, and global storytelling at BCFF 2025! 🎥🌍
