A True Soldier Took a Bow
Two days ago, a true soldier took a bow.
Though we do not mourn like the world would, this one hits deep.
It was a painful exit, yet an ovation at Heaven’s gate.
Sylvester would stop at nothing when it came to the Kingdom. When my brothers and I brought the ATC Club to Zaria, he was our very first contact. Alongside his friend Valentine, he gathered a few creatives for our first meeting, and that meeting became the spark that ignited a movement of unconventional evangelism among thousands of young believers across northern Nigeria, and eventually, the nation.
To a large extent, Sylvester was always at the forefront, shouting, “Sir, yes Sir!”
He wasn’t the best singer, but he would fight his way through every key just to sing with G-House. His dance steps were… courageous, but that never stopped him from moving with Dance Trybe. Until he found his true space in acting.
And when he did... he owned it.
As Odu, the fearsome character in the ATC Club’s legendary stage play “The Call,” Sylvester brought the message to life. We witnessed thousands of young people surrender their lives to Christ during that season that sparked revival on campuses.
Sylvester will forever be remembered in ATC Ministry Global as a founding member, an apostle, a radical, and an aggressive witness for Christ.
Today, in his honor, I paused our devotional to say this:
When all is said and done, “everything that lacks eternal consequence is eternally useless.”
We spoke over the phone last year, and he shared his plan to return to Zaria and invest two years in church work (Savannah Grace Chapel), using the ATC Club once again as a tool for evangelism. I was thrilled about his vision.
Today, I can only wish those plans had taken wings.
Farewell, brother. You fought well. Heaven stands applauding.
Till we meet at the crystal gate.
Let Sylvester’s life remind us that time is never as long as we think. Never postpone obedience or delay purpose.
Whatever God has placed in your heart to do, do it now, do it fully, and do it for eternity’s sake. Heaven keeps record, and only what’s done for Christ truly lasts.
