Di 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi don ask why lawmakers wey only need secondary school certitifcate to contest dey earn pass PhD holders for Nigeria.

Obi add say for a PhD holder to fit afford SUVs wey worth ₦160 million, e go take ova 85 years for dose wey dey earn N150,000 to save dia salary, but lawmaker dey get am from public purse.

“I wonder how dem expect an increase in PhD holders wen e dey take minimum of 10 years of dedicated study afta secondary school to earn a PhD.

“Our lawmakers wey di educational qualification wey dem require na secondary school certificate dey receive a monthly salary of ₦21 million wey dey more dan 10 years salary of a PhD holder.”

Obi say make govment invest in education and innovation instead of political positions and influence.
