Niger Govt budgets Fresh N1.5bn Budget For Tables, Chairs At Government House Guest Houses after budgeting N1.6bn for same last year

The Niger State Government has come under scrutiny after budget documents revealed plans to spend another N1.5 billion on executive tables and chairs for guest houses behind the Government House in Minna.

According to documents reviewed by Sahara Reporters, the 2026 approved budget includes funding for the “Provision of 28nos Executive Tables and Chairs for Additional 17no Guest Houses Behind Government House.”

The allocation comes after the state reportedly spent about N1.625 billion between January and September 2025 on the “Provision of Twenty-Eight number executive tables and chairs for additional seventeen numbers Guest Houses behind government house.”

Oyo Att@ck: There is No T+rrorist Base in South-West — DHQ Assures Nigerians.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has dismissed reports claiming t+rrorists have established a base in the South-West, insisting that the recent att@ck in Oyo State was an isolated criminal act and not evidence of insurgency in the region.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, said the military was intensifying efforts to rescue victims abd¥cted during the att@ck on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Onoja described the kidnapping of innocent pupils and school staff as “reprehensible” and assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces were deploying all available resources to secure the victims’ safe and unconditional release.

According to him, troops have already made contact with the k+dnappers and are currently carrying out aggressive pursuit operations across forest areas.

Nigerian socialite and businessman Cubana Chiefpriest has stirred reactions online after revealing that he was gifted a brand new car following his recent election loss.

Speaking during a livestream hosted by Peller, Cubana Chiefpriest said despite criticisms from some people, members of the APC have continued to support and encourage him.

According to him, one of the party chairmen personally reached out to check on him after the election and informed him that a new car had been bought for him as consolation.

“To the people ins¥lting me, APC is pampering me and the party is working to my favour,” he said during the livestream.

He added that he and his team would be picking up the vehicle the following day, while also boasting about having a strong circle of influential friends.

“One of my chairman called me to see how I am holding up after the loss and told me he bought me a brand new car for losing the election and we are picking it up tomorrow. I have a great league of friends,” he added.
