🌍 Honoured to be part of Malaysia’s journey towards COP31

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of the “Road to Antalya: Malaysia Pavilion at UNFCCC COP31” engagement in Putrajaya, together with YB Dato’ Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), alongside MGTC and industry partners.

It’s encouraging to see Malaysia taking concrete steps in climate action — not just through policy, but through real collaboration between government and private sector.

At De Carton, we believe sustainability must go beyond talk — it has to be practical, scalable, and implementable.
From exhibitions to large-scale structures, we are committed to supporting a low-carbon, circular future through innovative paper-based solutions.

💚An elegant event setup — built with carton board, not wood.

💚Sustainable design is no longer the future — it is already here.

We transformed this event space using 100% carton board structures, proving that premium event design can be both elegant and sustainable.
From decorative lantern poles to custom centerpiece installations, every feature was crafted from engineered paper board instead of traditional wood.
Why choose carton board over wood?

1. More Cost-Effective
Compared with plywood or timber fabrication, carton board structures can reduce overall material and production costs, especially for temporary events, exhibitions, and seasonal setups. Lower transport weight and faster installation also help reduce labour and logistics expenses.

2. Lower Carbon Footprint
Carton board has a significantly lower environmental impact than wood-based builds. It uses recyclable paper-based material, requires less energy to transport due to lighter weight, and can be reused or recycled after the event.

3. Beautiful + Practical
Many people assume paper materials look cheap — but as shown here, carton board can be transformed into premium, elegant, and structurally sound event décor suitable for hotels, gala dinners, weddings, and corporate functions.

4. Faster Installation & Removal
Because the structures are lightweight and modular, setup and dismantling are faster and cleaner compared with wood carpentry.

🌙 Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 🌙

We are honoured to have the opportunity to design and install this Hari Raya installation for Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur Sports City.

This festive installation is fully built using recyclable corrugated cardboard, combining traditional Islamic architectural elements with sustainable design. From the arches and dome to the decorative panels, the entire structure demonstrates how creative design can work together with environmentally friendly materials.

At De Carton, we believe celebrations can also be sustainable. By using cardboard structures, we aim to reduce environmental impact while still creating beautiful festive spaces for the community.

Thank you to Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia for the trust and opportunity to contribute to the festive atmosphere at Kuala Lumpur Sports City.

很荣幸为 Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia（马来西亚国家体育场管理机构） 在 Kuala Lumpur Sports City 设计与搭建这座 Hari Raya节庆装置。

这座装置 完全采用可回收瓦楞纸板（corrugated cardboard）制作，融合了伊斯兰建筑元素与环保设计理念。从拱门、穹顶到装饰纹样，整个结构展示了环保材料也可以创造出充满节庆氛围的空间。

在 De Carton，我们相信 节庆与环保可以同时存在。通过纸结构设计，希望在创造美丽节庆空间的同时，也减少对环境的影响。

De Carton was honoured to attend the Official Launch of Malaysia’s Participation Report at UNFCCC COP30, hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES).

As a recognised Key Partner of the Malaysia Pavilion at COP30, this milestone reflects the growing role of sustainable material innovation within Malaysia’s broader climate and ESG agenda. 🌱

Our cardboard-based infrastructure solutions are designed to provide low-carbon, circular-economy alternatives for exhibitions, events, and temporary built environments. By rethinking conventional building materials, we aim to reduce waste, lower environmental impact, and support more responsible event infrastructure practices.♻️

Participation in COP30 initiatives underscores the importance of collaboration among governments, industry, and solution providers in translating global climate commitments into measurable, real-world outcomes.🤝

Looking back at a meaningful few days at Sayang Green, where we had the opportunity to showcase what sustainable event infrastructure can truly look like.✨

As a sponsor and exhibitor of the event, De Carton designed and built the cardboard-based booths, counters, platforms, seating and exhibition displays used throughout the venue — demonstrating how recyclable materials can be thoughtfully transformed into functional and visually engaging spaces.

One of the most eye-catching highlights was the large-scale cardboard playground slide we constructed💯😎, serving as both a playful attraction and a real-world example of how cardboard structures can be engineered at scale.

Beyond the installations themselves, what stood out most were the conversations — exchanging ideas with like-minded individuals who believe in building greener, more responsible environments through better design choices.

At Sayang Green, De Carton had the opportunity to take part in interview session sharing our perspective on how sustainable event infrastructure can be thoughtfully designed, built, and applied at scale.🤝

Through these discussions, we showcased our cardboard-based structures and explained how they are engineered to be durable, functional, and reusable — challenging the common misconception that cardboard is fragile or limited to single-use applications. By extending the life cycle of materials and reducing reliance on conventional, high-impact resources, these solutions help minimize waste generated from temporary event setups.♻️🌐

For us, cardboard is not a compromise, but a design opportunity. When approached with the right structure, material understanding, and system thinking, it becomes a practical solution that supports sustainability without sacrificing performance or aesthetics.

The interview sessions and on-site interactions provided a valuable platform for us to exchange ideas with the organisers, partners, and visitors — reinforcing the importance of collaboration in turning ESG from intention into real-world ex*****on.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the Sayang Green organising team, 180 Degrees Brandcom and its founder Chan Fong 陳峰 and everyone who visited our space, engaged in conversations, and supported this initiative.

Together, these shared efforts continue to move sustainable design from concept to meaningful action.🌱🤝


在此次 Sayang Green 活动中，De Carton 参与了访问与现场交流，分享我们对于可持续活动基础设施的看法，以及这些方案如何在兼顾设计、结构与执行的前提下，实现规模化应用

透过这些交流，我们展示了纸结构产品，并说明这些结构如何经过工程化设计，具备耐用性、功能性与可重复使用的特质，从而打破大众对纸材「脆弱、只能一次性使用」的常见误解。透过延长材料的使用周期，并减少对高环境负担的传统材料依赖，这类解决方案有助于降低临时活动所产生的废弃物 ♻️🌐
