The Conscious Cinema Super 8 Laboratory, led by filmmaker Pablo Cruz Villalba, is an invitation to return to cinema as an artisan, collective and site-specific practice. A space to film from the territory and with the territory, understanding the image as living memory and a tool for social observation.

Over two days, participants will move through the complete analog filmmaking process —shooting, hand processing and projection— working in small groups and building a collective piece from multiple perspectives of a shared environment. The exercise follows a filmic exquisite co**se, where each fragment connects with the next to form a shared portrait of the landscape and the community that inhabits it.

The laboratory will take place in March, within the framework of Nommo Fest, across two venues:

March 13 – La Eufemia
March 14 – Radio Tulum

Participation is limited to 12 people, due to the reduced number of cameras and the intimate nature of the process.

Thanks to your contribution, this laboratory can also be replicated free of charge in Maya Zone communities, using the arts and cinema as tools for environmental regeneration and social transformation.

We are thrilled to share, for the first time in the history of the Festival de Cine Consciente, and in partnership with Nommo Fest, the Conscious Cinema Laboratory “Animate to Restore”, led by Amanita Film filmmaker Andrea León Gutiérrez.

This stop-motion workshop using recycled materials invites people of all ages to experience the magic of cinema, using creativity as a bridge to reflect on our relationship with the planet.

Animate to Restore will take place on March 5th and 6th at Nômade and Bacab. We will begin with a community beach and public space clean-up, collecting our raw materials and transforming them into a collective story about caring for the Earth.

Thanks to your contribution, this laboratory can also be replicated free of charge in the Maya Zone, using the arts as a tool for environmental regeneration and social transformation.

Con gran emoción les compartimos, por primera vez en la historia del Festival de Cine Consciente, y en alianza con , el Laboratorio de Cine Consciente “Animar para Restaurar”, impartido por la cineasta de Amanita Film, Andrea León Gutiérrez.

Este taller de stop motion con materiales reciclados tiene como propósito acercar a personas de todas las edades a la magia del cine, utilizando la creatividad como puente para reflexionar sobre nuestro vínculo con el planeta.

Como parte de la programación académica y lúdica del festival, reunimos talleres que invitaron a tocar, observar y reconectar.

Exploramos ecosistemas entre hongos y sargazo, tejimos mundos imaginarios en crochet y profundizamos en la conciencia corporal mediante el registro del ciclo menstrual.

El FCC, es un encuentro donde aprender también es un acto consciente de juego y comunidad.

Las proyecciones del Festival de Cine Consciente se volvieron territorio de encuentros, reflexiones y emociones que sólo existen bajo el cielo de Tulum.

El Festival de Cine Consciente llega con 3 días de cine, arte y sostenibilidad en el corazón del Caribe. ¡No te lo pierdas!

Más allá de la pantalla, el FCC busca impulsar la economía cultural apoyando a productores locales, iniciativas de transporte sostenible y estándares de producción ecológicos. Su diseño como festival de acceso gratuito para el público desafía los modelos de financiación tradicionales del sector artístico mexicano.
