The France Macau Chamber of Commerce bridges Macau to the World.

Following his visit to FKCCI French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, our Director of the Board and Treasurer, Jeremy Artan de Saint Martin, also had the pleasure of visiting the CCI France UAE, office last week. These visits once again demonstrate the scale and benefit of the CCI France International network. We are pleased to share that our Director of the Board and Treasurer, Mr. Jérémy Artan de Saint Martin, represented FMCC at the 'CCI France International Asia Directors Seminar - Seoul', hosted by FKCCI French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This annual gathering brought together French Chambers' Managing Directors across Asia to share best practices and strengthen support for the development of French companies in the region.

For FMCC, these connections reinforce our role as a bridge between Macau and the broader French business community. As part of the CCIFI ecosystem, FMCC provides members with a pathway to connect, exchange, and a voice to support them in their global business expansion.

The event was especially meaningful, celebrating both FKCCI's 40th anniversary and 140 years of France–Korea diplomatic relations.

A warm thank you to FKCCI for the seamless organisation and to all participants for the strategic conversations. FMCC returns with a list of coordinated activities to further strengthen our great ecosystem.

‘A talented Chemical engineer turned blood sampling and urine tests for athletes obsolete.’

On April 29th, FMCC had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Kenny Oktavius, Co-founder & CEO of PointFit, a Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 honoree and chemical engineer turned entrepreneur.
PointFit is revolutionizing sports health monitoring with a breakthrough sticker that captures athlete biomarkers through sweat, eliminating the need for painful and inconvenient blood sampling. Backed by Seveno Capital, HKUST, and HKSTP, and named one of Forbes Asia’s Top 100 Companies to Watch, PointFit is a true biotech rising star.

Moderated by Professor José Alves, Dean of the Faculty of Business at City University of Macau, the session went beyond the product to explore Kenny’s entrepreneurial journey, from his student days to building a bio-tech startup, and highlighted how Hong Kong, Macau, and the Greater Bay Area offer students an unparalleled platform to turn knowledge into real-world impact.

A special thank you to Mr. Oktavius and Professor Alves for their inspiring insights, to all our members for your continued support, and to Sofitel at Ponte 16 for co-sponsoring our Breakfast Talk Rendez-Vous.

”From Waste to Value: Rethinking Sustainability in the Greater Bay Area“

From soaring energy bills to geopolitical uncertainty, the pressure to rethink how we produce and consume energy has never been greater. The shift toward green transformation and energy independence is accelerating, driven not only by idealism but by hard economics. Over the weekend, the FMCC served as a supporting organization for key environmental initiatives advancing the circular economy in Macau and the Greater Bay Area.

On 26 March, FMCC officially opened registration for the 2026 Macau ESG Awards at the Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF). This year’s MIECF saw a 20% rise in international attendance, reflecting growing global momentum toward low-carbon development.

In addition to our presence at the exhibition, we were pleased to support the seminar “Reimagining Food Waste: Unlocking Circular Economy Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area,” organized by the Society of Food and Environmental Health (Macao).

The session reframed food waste from a cost burden into a strategic opportunity, built around three core principles:
- Reshaping mindsets: waste holds value
- Rising consumer demand: sustainability is no longer optional. It is expected.
- National alignment: circular economy initiatives are already taking shape across the Greater Bay Area, aligned with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and its push for greater energy independence.

Key takeaway: what was once seen as cost and compliance is rapidly becoming a source of innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.

A special thank you to MECC for fostering strong inter-chamber collaboration through the joint booth at MIECF.

As Macau advances its vision of a “low-carbon, zero-waste city,” FMCC remains committed to supporting members in integrating sustainability into their business strategies.

Genesis Festival “Where Legacy Meets Tomorrow”

On 25-26 March, the France Macau Chamber of Commerce was pleased to join the Genesis Festival by Finoverse as an official partner.

At the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, our Director of the Board and Treasurer, Jérémy Artan de Saint Martin, represented FMCC at this invitation-only gathering, bringing together next-generation leaders, family offices, and global investors shaping the future of private capital.

As Jérémy put it: “This partnership demonstrates our position within the GBA eco-system and our capability to foster relations across its various jurisdictions, while also offering our members exclusive networking opportunities with leading global investors.”

From organising Hong Kong FinTech Week to pioneering AI-powered community connections, Finoverse continues to set the benchmark for innovation. We are pleased to collaborate with a network that sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and lasting legacy.

We look forward to continuing to build on these connections.

“Is the Brussels Effect losing its grip, and what does that mean for global tech business?”

That was the central question at our March 25 Breakfast Talk Rendez-Vous, where Dr. Sara Migliorini shared insightful perspectives on the shifting balance between EU regulation and the influence of U.S. tech giants. For years, the so-called Brussels Effect meant that global tech companies adopted EU standards worldwide, simply because operating under multiple regulatory systems was too complex and costly.

Today, that dynamic is shifting.

Dr. Migliorini highlighted how U.S. tech companies are increasingly pushing back against EU regulations through legal challenges, policy engagement, and technical workarounds. At the same time, recent signals from the EU itself suggest a growing focus on competitiveness, potentially leading to a more flexible regulatory approach through its Digital Omnibus proposals.

The result? A move away from one global standard rulebook towards a more fragmented and localized regulatory landscape.

For technology businesses operating across markets, this shift really matters. Regulatory certainty is no longer a given, and navigating multiple frameworks is becoming more complex, making adaptability to these ever-changing regulations more important than ever.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Sara Migliorini for sharing her expertise, and to Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 for co-sponsoring this event.

FMCC looks forward to welcoming you to our upcoming FMCC events!

At the March 24 “2026 Bonjour Brand Forum Macao”, former French prime minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin highlighted the excellent state of Sino-French relations, and stressed the need for the partnership to achieve strategic balance by marrying French exports with Chinese investment to forge a durable alliance and a shared vision for multilateralism.

The France Macau Chamber of Commerce represented by our Chairman Mr Rutger Verschuren, Director of the board and Treasurer Jérémy Artan de Saint Martin, and members was pleased to attend the opening ceremony and main forum.

We were honored to engage with former French Prime Minister and exchange with the Consul General of France on concrete opportunities to deepen economic and cultural ties between France and Macau.

Key takeaway from the forum: Macau is strengthening its position as a strategic gateway for French brands to access the mainland Chinese market. That’s a prime opportunity, reinforcing the value of our collective work in fostering France and Greater Bay Area collaboration.

A big thank you to the Bonjour Brand team for their initiative and to all our members who join the forum.
