We, Row Like a Lion ("RoLL"), are the first Team representing the country Luxemburg during the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in 2018, in order to raise funds for the Luxemburg based charity "Toutes à l'Ecole" - supporting girls in Cambodge and giving them an opportunity to go to school and study. With our solo rower Stéphane Joly-Meunier and his hard training, we are convinced to win this Ch
allenge and this for a good cause. Stéphane Joly-Meunier's first interview:
"My aim to row across the Atlantic solo goes back 20 years to when I was a teenager looking for adventure and thrills. Whilst the years flew by, I am now a dedicated father and lawyer but I never stopped believing that being an ordinary guy does not prevent you from achieving extraordinary things if you truly set your mind to it. In the end, don’t we only regret the missed opportunities and the decisions we took too long to make? As the proud brother of 3 sisters and father of 3 young children (2 daughters and one boy) - I strongly believe that providing little girls living in developing countries with education is a crucial challenge to be overcome for human dignity, democracy and economic expansion. Eager to give back some of what life and Luxembourg has given me, I have decided to undertake this epic and grueling Atlantic Challenge to support the charity Toutes à l’Ecole (Luxembourg). The aim of Toutes à l’Ecole is to give little girls from Cambodia access to education and a more secure future. I also wish to promote and represent the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, a country which does not leave anyone behind and where everything is possible. At the same time, I want this journey to help promote certain strong values that I cherish and which are deeply rooted in Luxembourg, such as resilience, dynamism as well as open mindedness."
