Inspired by the ideals of Pierre Werner, the Pierre Werner Scholarship fosters European integration. The Fondation Pierre Werner, under the aegis of the Fondation de Luxembourg, awards an annual scholarship to outstanding postgraduate students from European countries (except Luxembourg) in the fields of law, economics, finance and political sciences at the University of Luxembourg.
Level: PhD/Doctoral candidates
Field of study: Economics, Finance, Law, Political Sciences
Amount: The Pierre Werner Scholarship amounts to €26,000 for one academic year. The scholarship maybe divided into awards to up to four successful candidates.
Eligibility criteria: EU nationals (excluding Luxembourg) or citizens of a recognised candidate for future membership of the EU (Albania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia/North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey); registered for PhD studies at Uni.lu at the time of application and can be at any stage of their studies.

two letters of recommendation (academic)
