The SAJ Festival

The SAJ Festival The Khrome Ensemble will be collaborating with local and foreign musicians to conduct music festivals THE GENRE MUSIC THAT WILL BE HEARD AT THE SAJ FESTIVAL.

The types of music to be performed will have a common factor linking them. This may be termed “Improvisation”. The performances created with Improvisation as the focal point will be influenced by the inclusion of elements from Jazz, Rock, Oriental, Classical , Pop music and their variants based on the originating countries and communities. For example musicians may perform “German Jazz” with a ble

nd of “German Rock/Pop” or apply permutations and combinations with any of their Italian counterparts. Blending of styles is encouraged as the theme of the festival is Fusion. Taking another example, Western Classical music may be blended with Oriental Ragadhari music or Arabic Classical music. Apart from this all known traditional styles of Jazz will be welcome. The musicians will be encouraged to establish a new and modern genre termed “South Asian Jazz”!
