Tini Tinou, meaning "here and here" in Khmer, is a spectacular biennial event celebrating the art of circus in Cambodia. Since its debut in 2004, this vibrant festival has welcomed over 800 circus artists from around the globe, creating unforgettable moments of artistic exchange and entertainment while delighting audiences both local and international. Organized by Phare Ponleu Selpak, the festiva

l brings together world-class circus artists to engage with audiences, fostering cultural exchange, artistic innovation, and collaboration. Set in the historic city of Battambang, the Tini Tinou International Circus Festival aspires to:

🎪 Throwback to 2022 — Frigo Collectif Brought Circus Energy from France! ✨

In 2022, we were thrilled to welcome Frigo Collectif, a vibrant group of young artists from the Ésacto’Lido circus school in France, to the Tini Tinou International Circus Festival!

With performers from different nationalities and diverse circus disciplines, they brought fresh energy and creativity to the festival stage. Their show, Bourask, gave audiences a glimpse of the next generation of contemporary circus — bold, expressive, and full of movement.

Throwback to 2022 — When Our Vibrant Circus Festival Returned to Battambang’s Streets! 🎪✨[English Below]

After a long pause during the pandemic, 2022 marked a powerful comeback. Phare Ponleu Selpak resumed its arts festivals, and nothing captured that excitement more than the return of the Tini Tinou International Circus Festival!

For six vibrant days, Battambang came alive. The Phare campus and streets across the city buzzed with unforgettable circus acts by both local and international artists, filled with community spirit, laughter, and pure joy. It was our first festival after 6 years break since 2016, and it quickly became one of the most successful and memorable editions yet.

Walking on Air: Oliver’s Highwire Stunt Over Sangkae River! 🌉🎪

Who could forget that heart-stopping moment when Oliver Zimmermann from Germany took to the skies above Battambang? Suspended 12 meters above the Sangkae River, he crossed a 200-meter wire, relying on his incredible balance, focus, and fearless determination.

It was the first highwire act crossing the Sangkae River of its kind in Battambang — and it left everyone watching in awe! Locals, tourists, and festival-goers held their breath with every step.

🌾 The Phok Phala Dance – A Cultural performance at Tini Tinou 🌾 [English Below]

តើលោកអ្នកបានទស្សនា របាំភោគផល ដ៏គួរអោយទាក់ទាញនៅក្នុងកំឡុងពេលមហោស្រព ទីនេះទីនោះដែររឺទេ? ✨ ជាការសំដែងដោយសិស្សដែលមានទេពកោសល្យ នៃហ្វាររបស់យើង របាំនេះបានឆ្លុះបញ្ចាំងយ៉ាងប្រពៃ ពីទំនៀមទម្លាប់របស់សហគមន៍ជនជាតិដើមភាគតិចកម្ពុជា ព្រមទាំងបង្ហាញពីរបៀបរស់នៅរបស់ពួកគេនៅឆាកសម្ដែងផងដែរ។

របាំនេះបង្ហាញពីការដាំស្រូវចម្ការគឺបុកដាំដោយប្រើឈើ"ចឹង"និង ការប្រមូលផលស្រូវដោយបូតនឹងដៃ។ហេីយភ្លេងកំដររបាំនេះគឺ "គង"។

Did you catch the captivating Phok Phala Dance at Tini Tinou? ✨ Performed by our talented Phare students, this dance beautifully honored the traditions of Cambodia’s indigenous communities, bringing their way of life to the stage.

This dance is based on the indigenous traditions of Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri provinces, namely, the slash-and-burn farming tradition (shifting cultivation). This tradition is often practiced among ethnic groups living in mountainous areas.

🌱 This dance depicts the planting of rice fields using a wooden "choeng" and the harvesting of rice by hand. The music accompanying this dance is "kong."

FORCE from South Korea amazed everyone with their gravity-defying stunts! The audience was glued to the performance from start to finish, holding their breath and cheering. And guess what? It was free for all to enjoy!

កាលពីយូរលង់ណាស់មកហើយ មានព្រានព្រៃម្នាក់បានទៅបរបាញ់សត្វនៅក្នុងព្រៃ។ អំឡុងពេលបរបាញ់គាត់បានប្រទះឃើញ សត្វមួយហ្វូងចុះទៅ ផឹកទឹកពីអង្កត់ឈើ។ នៅក្នុងហ្វូងសត្វទាំងនោះមានដូចជា សត្វក្ងោកសត្វប្រើស និង សត្វផ្សេងទៀត។ នៅពេលដែលសត្វនោះ បានផឹកទឹកហើយ ពួកវាក៏ស្រវឹងស្រែកច្រៀងរាំលេង យ៉ាងសប្បាយទ្រហឹង អឺងកងពាសពេញព្រៃ។ ក្រោយពេលបានឃើញពពួកសត្វច្រៀងលេងសប្បាយបែបនោះ ព្រានព្រៃក៏ចង់សាកផឹកទឹកនោះដែរ ហើយគាត់ក៏ស្រវឹងច្រៀងរាំសប្បាយដែរ។ លុះដល់ ពេលដែលគាត់ត្រឡប់មកដល់ភូមិវិញ គាត់ក៏បានបង្កើតរបាំមួយហៅថា របាំព្លយសួយ ដែលបានចម្លងក្បាច់ដែលខ្លួនបានឃើញពីហ្វូងសត្វដែលបានច្រៀងរាំយ៉ាងល្អត្រកាល។នៅក្នុងរបាំផ្លយសួយក៏មានមនុស្សដើរតួរជាសត្វ ក្ងោកដែលជាសត្វមួយក្នុងចំណោមហ្វូងសត្វ និង បុរសកាន់ផ្លយ ដែលជាឧបករណ៏ផ្លុំមួយមានសម្លេងស្រដៀងនឹង សម្រែកសត្វ។

🌿 Once upon a time, a hunter went to the forest to hunt and saw a herd of animals drinking water from a tree stump. The animals, including peacocks and deer, were drunk and dancing happily. The hunter wanted to taste the water and became drunk himself. He also danced and sang happily. When he returned to the village, he created a dance called "Ploy Souy" based on the animals' movements. The dance featured dancers representing peacocks, and men holding a Ploy instrument that mimics animal sounds.
