Jesse Sizmo (Lips & Rhythm Records, San Francisco)

Jesse Sizmo is the casual boss of Lips & Rhythm Records. He has hosted a weekly radio show for 8 years and has spent the same amount of time DJing and digging for records around the planet. His ongoing sound exploration has led him to many wonderful international artists who have released on his vinyl imprint that floats between house, disco, funk, and Balearic frequencies. A musician since his youth, Sizmo absorbed a wide range of world music beyond contemporary trends and was taught to ignore genres and go with what feels good. This boundary-blurring established a strong foundation for him as a selector in the booth and an A&R man in the field, hosting day parties and label nights coming up in San Francisco with his ‘family’ of producers. He is also 1⁄2 of the production duo Birds Of Rhythm with longtime partner Soleil and also releases music as Bad Kids Beach Club with Seb Hall. For Sizmo, curating music and DJing is all about sharing a timeless adventure through sound with everyone he meets.

先週は、ありがとうございました！皆様のおかけで最高のパーティーになったと思います！毎年ありがとうございます😊1月は、もう一本イベントがあります。
昨年11月 .sake オープンの日にDJをさせて頂いた事をきっかけに話が進み、何か日本酒と空間を活かしたイベントができないかとオーナーのうえださんとお話した結果、日本酒に合って普段のイベントでかけれないような音楽やBPMでプレイするパーティー、方向性で今イベントを計画して進めています。

KOFUNE SAKE BREWERYは、KOFUNEに所属する醸造家たちがそれぞれのお酒造りを行うシェア型の醸造所というユニークなコンセプトで呑み手が酒造りを目の前で見ながら呑めるパブが一体となった梅田スカイビル近くにある新しいスポットです。

今回、僕らもまだ手探りではありますが、少し新しいことをしたいなという気分も出てきた中、自前のMartin Audioとpowersoftを持ち込んでイベントを開催しようと思っております。かつては、色んな場所でイベントしていた時期もあったので、このように新しい場所でイベントを企画する事は、懐かしいくもありますがアイデアを出したり企画する事は、毎回フレッシュで楽しい時間でもあります。今回、この機会をくださったKOFUNE SAKE BREWERYには、感謝しています。当日は、貯蔵家の方々が丁寧につくられたお酒の世界観に負けないよう音楽とお酒が馴染んだ空間を演出できればと思っています。今回は、特別に2階のウェアハウスのエリアをお借りしています。3時間、良いお酒と音楽をゆっくり楽しんで頂ければと思っております。

We have another event in January.
The conversation began after I DJed on the opening day of .sake last November, and after talking with the owner, Mr. Ueda, about the possibility of holding an event that would make the most of the space, we’re now planning an event with the idea of a party where we play music and BPMs that pair well with sake and that don’t usually get played at events.

KOFUNE SAKE BREWERY is a new spot near Umeda Sky Building. It has a unique concept: a shared brewery where KOFUNE’s brewers craft their own sake, combined with a pub where drinkers can watch the sake being made right in front of them.This time, we’re still feeling our way around, but we’re feeling like we want to try something a little different, so we’re thinking of bringing our own Martin Audio and powersoft to the event in January, which is a good time. We’ve held events in various locations in the past, so planning an event in a new venue like this brings back memories, but coming up with ideas and planning it is also fresh and fun every time. I’d like to thank KOFUNE SAKE BREWERY for giving me this opportunity.On the day, I hope to create a space where music and sake blend together, so that it matches the world of the sake carefully crafted by the sake cellarists.
This time, we’ve specially borrowed the warehouse area on the second floor.I hope you will enjoy great sake and music for three hours.Attendance will include one drink. #梅田

Holic Trax/Doublet/A time traveller DJ

producer from Osaka, Japan. Influenced by black roots house music from United States. He developed his career playing in major clubs in Osaka and moved to London and started an event called "Holic" in 2004. His considerable talent of mix as a DJ was hosted at The End/AKA, Fabric, Ministry of Sounds. In 2012, He launched his new record label "Holic Trax" and established one of the keystones in the UK underground music scene.Three EP's were released in the year of the 5th Anniversary of Holic Trax. Conducted by artists from Satoshi Tomiie, Mr G, Tuccillo. In addition, he started a new duo unit "Doublet" with Artist Tuccillo. . "101" and "202" are very popular as they are sold out immediately. To date, he has been creatively active, releasing more than 40 records including the sub-labels Boothoic, Monoklo, Tom Tam Club. music goes to all the dance floor around the globe. He also has a Dj set that goes beyond the dance floor with a selection of good music such as jazz, ambient and downtempo. By the way, his hobby is tennis, and he is still one of the sportsmen who runs around the court endlessly.

毎年恒例のゲストで友人のが帰ってきます。長年、交流していく中で、今年僕の曲が彼のレーベルから出せたのは、嬉しいニュースでした！ミックスは、James (Seb wildblood)が僕の自宅でやってくれたのですが、それがものすごいスピード。さくっとミックスの問題点やクオリティーを詰めていく姿を横で見ていて、めちゃくちゃ勉強になりました。彼のレーベルは、素晴らしいアーティストがたくさんいて日本でもさんさんなど素晴らしいアーティストの方々がリリースされてます。この日は、レーベルのマネージャーでプロデューサーの .wav も参加しますので、レーベルナイトとして今回開催する事にしました！まだレーベルの事知らない方も是非この機会にレーベルの音を聞いて頂ければと思います。変化に対して柔軟でレーベルとして進化し成長を続けていくら彼らの姿勢にリスペクトがあるので、全力ででサポートできればと思ってます。
