I PERCORSI - Un dedalo di strade bianche sul fondovalle, quelle strade inghiaiate che hanno partorito i miti del Diavolo Rosso Gerbi e del Campionissimo Girardengo; poi un puzzle di stradine secondarie e sterrati che si inerpicano sulle dolci colline monferrine; le strade saranno aperte al traffico, ma verificherete che il traffico è scarsissimo. Il Monferrato casalese ed astigiano è il nuovo Eldorado del turismo sportivo, del cicloturismo in particolare. La nostra missione, il nostro "perchè", è proteggere e valorizzare questo mondo riconosciuto dall'Unesco patrimonio dell'Umanità per il paesaggio vitivinicolo e gli infernot. Un piccolo mondo ed un ecosistema messi a serio rischio dai guasti dell'abbandono. Serve gente, molta gente. La Monsterrato-Strade Bianche Monferrato è stata creata dall'ASD Bike Comedy Club con l'obiettivo di salvaguardare le strade bianche e valorizzare il Monferrato come meta di turismo sportivo, forte anche di una posizione privilegiata che lo vede a soli 50' di autostrada Milano, Torino, Genova e dall'aeroporto internazionale Milano Malpensa. 2-3 September 2023, 7/a La Monsterrato-Strade Bianche Monferrato, departure and arrival in Quattordio (Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy)
THE PROGRAM:
- FRIDAY 2 SEPTEMBER: registration and issue of race numbers
- SATURDAY 3 SEPTEMBER: Monsterrato Race (K UCI GRAVEL WORLD SERIES) on 2 routes; 113 km and 150 km, plus a third route of about 220 km. For gravel bikes, historical and vintage bikes and modern racing bikes
- SUNDAY 4 SEPTEMBER: 6 /a La Monsterrato-Strade Bianche Monferrato, free personal cycling tour for gravel bikes, vintage and vintage bikes, mtb and e-bikes. A maze of white roads on the valley floor, those gravel roads that gave birth to the myths of the Red Devil Gerbi and the Campionissimo Girardengo; then a puzzle of secondary streets and dirt roads that climb the gentle hills of Monferrato; the roads will be open to traffic, but you will verify that the traffic is very scarce. The Casalese and Asti Monferrato is the new, ancient Eldorado of sports tourism, in particular of cycle tourism. Our mission, our "why", is to protect and enhance this world recognized by Unesco as a World Heritage Site for the wine landscape and the infernots. A small world and an ecosystem put at serious risk by the failures of abandonment. Defending this Eldorado is no easy feat.
