Il Museo Scalvini presso Villa Cusani Tittoni Traversi a Desio (MB) è lieto di accogliere la prima edizione italiana del PRESENT ART FESTIVAL. COMUNITA’ REALI E VIRTUALI ALL’EPOCA DELL’INCERTEZZA, con il Patrocinio del Comune di Desio, l’organizzazione di MA-EC e la curatela di Vera Agosti e Cristiano Plicato. Il Festival si è tenuto per 10 anni a Shanghai e Pechino, con la partecipazione di artisti provenienti da oltre 30 Paesi del mondo e si basa su una filosofia di comunicazione aperta e reciproca e su scambi multiculturali ed economici. Si tratta quindi di un evento che collega Oriente ed Occidente. Le sale dell’antica villa ospiteranno dal 22 maggio al 6 giugno 2021 le opere di artisti internazionali che utilizzeranno media (pittura, fotografia, scultura, installazione, design, multimedia, performance…) e linguaggi differenti, dalla figurazione all’astrazione. Il sottotitolo, COMUNITA’ REALI E VIRTUALI ALL’EPOCA DELL’INCERTEZZA, allude al tema dell’iniziativa: le comunità ai nostri giorni, resi incerti a causa della pandemia e della crisi economica. Per comunità intendiamo qualunque gruppo di persone con finalità, sentimenti, abitudini o tradizioni condivise, che si incontrano nella vita reale o on-line. Ecco quindi ritratti e immagini di gruppi, famiglie, amici, colleghi, studenti, viaggiatori; riferimenti ai forum, alle chat, ai social media e al digitale e a tutto quanto la creatività degli artisti sappia inventare in relazione all’importanza della socialità e dello stare insieme, che con il Coronavirus abbiamo riscoperto così vitale per l’uomo. In alcune opere è palese l’allusione alle comunità divise dalla pandemia: si vedono pertanto territori desolati e lande abbandonate.

The Museo Scalvini at Villa Cusani Tittoni Traversi in Desio (MB) is pleased to welcome the first Italian edition of the PRESENT ART FESTIVAL. REAL AND VIRTUAL COMMUNITIES AT THE AGE OF UNCERTAINTY, with the patronage of the Municipality of Desio, the organization of MA-EC Gallery and the curatorship of Vera Agosti and Cristiano Plicato. The Festival was held for 10 years in Shanghai and Beijing, with the participation of artists from over 30 countries of the world and is based on a philosophy of open and reciprocal communication and on multicultural and economic exchanges. It is therefore an event that connects East and West. The rooms of the ancient villa will host from 22 May to 6 June 2021 the works of international artists who will use media (painting, photography, sculpture, installation, design, multimedia, performance...) and different languages, from figuration to abstraction. The subtitle, REAL AND VIRTUAL COMMUNITIES AT THE AGE OF UNCERTAINTY, alludes to the theme of the initiative: communities in our day, made uncertain because of the pandemic and the economic crisis. With the word community we mean any group of people with shared goals, feelings, habits or traditions, that meet in real life or online. So here are portraits and images of groups, families, friends, colleagues, students, travelers; references to forums, chats, social media and digital and all that the creativity of artists can invent in relation to the importance of sociality and of being together, that with the Coronavirus we have rediscovered so vital for man. In some works there is a clear allusion to communities divided by the pandemic: we see therefore desolate territories and abandoned lands.
