Last competition day here at the 3rd FAI World hang gliding sport class championships! Pilots are getting in the air to be ready for the start and the 42.5 km task.
Today the winner will be decided: adrenaline is high, the athletes are pumped, and conditions are looking fantastic!

Today, our pilots will take off from the launch site at ๐๐จ๐ ๐ ๐ข๐จ ๐’๐š๐ง๐ญโ€™๐„๐ฅ๐ฌ๐š, near the top station of the cable car. The task for the day is 40 km.

However, the start has been delayed due to a German paraglider pilot who, after launching from Monte N**o this morning, landed her glider among the shrubs above the town of Cittiglio. Recovery operations are underway, and the pilot is reported to be safe and not injured.

Butโ€ฆ a shy sun is not enough to confirm the first task. Pilots can then decide if they want to have free flights.

On Sunday, June 1 officially opens the 3rd FAI World Hang gliding Class Sport Championship
๐ŸŽบ At ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–.30, teams from all over the world will parade through the streets of the center starting from ๐ฉ๐ข๐š๐ณ๐ณ๐š๐ฅ๐ž ๐„๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐š, accompanied by live music from the Corpo Musicale S. Cecilia. A moment of celebration, colors, and sporting pride that will involve the whole city!
๐ŸŒŸ Afterwards, at 19.00, we will meet at the ๐€๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐จ ๐๐ข ๐•๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š ๐…๐ซ๐ฎ๐š for the opening ceremony: a chance to meet the protagonists of this adventure in the skies!
