Being the pioneering institute of undergraduate studies in Mass communication in the country comes with added responsibilities in our role of providing hands-on training to students in the field of media. We have also been on our toes making the society around us experience media in its many hues, through film screenings, photography exhibitions, puppetry shows, theater performances, seminars, tal

ks and workshops. About the Festival
At the regional level, after the grand success of “Indie8” the first Northeast Independent Film Festival held in 2013, the Department of Mass Media this year intends to embark upon a new journey exploring the ever-evolving art of photography. This festival will be first of its kind in the region aiming to draw inspiration from stalwarts in photography and exploring the art of photography both as a hobby and a career choice. Dates: 16th - 19th November 2015

Who will be there! Renowned, photographers from abroad, the rest of India and the eight states of the northeast. Watch this space for more updates on who will be joining us! What is in store for you! The Indian Photography Festival (IPF) - Hyderabad invites photographers to submit their works for the exhibitions as part of the festival in Hyderabad, India from 29th September - 09th October 2016.

IPF - Hyderabad, is an international photography festival showcasing a wide range of photography across all genres from portraits and landscape through photojournalism to fine-art by emerging and established photographers from India and around the globe. The festival features Exhibitions, Panel Discussions, Artists Talks, Portfolio Reviews, Photography Workshops & Book Launches.

Submission Guidelines:-

Theme - Open theme.
Submissions are free.
Submissions should be a body of work (photo series or photo essay) including minimum 15 images. (Image Size - 1 MB Max)
Single images will not be accepted.
Submissions should be made with an Artist Statement not exceeding 1000 words and a short bio of the artist not exceeding 400 words.
Please zip the folder, name it your firstname_lastname and email to [email protected] with subject line: Submission - Firstname Lastname.
The curatorial team of the Festival will review the submitted works and will contact you if your works are selected for the festival.

Last date for submission is July 15th 2016.

Thank you all for making the first edition of SIPF a success. We are honoured to have hosted each and every participating photographer - your presence at the festival was nothing short of inspiring. Thank you people of Shillong for your support. Thank you students and teachers from different schools, colleges and universities across India who came to be a part of SIPF.
