Makoto Shinkai's iconic masterpiece, 5 Centimeters per Second, is getting a live-action adaptation! 🎬

After delivering record-breaking hits like Your Name, Weathering With You, and Suzume, Shinkai's 5 Centimeters per Second is finally being reimagined in live-action form. This will be the first time one of Shinkai's films is adapted into live-action, making it a must-watch for all anime lovers.

This 2007 film is a cornerstone of Shinkai's career, often hailed as the origin of his signature style. It tells the poignant story of a young man navigating 18 years of life while holding onto memories of his first love, a girl he met in childhood but drifted apart from. The film's breathtaking visuals, music, and poetic storytelling have made it a beloved classic worldwide, even 17 years after its release.
