Culture is a way of life - the complex whole of traditional knowledge, values, experience and other capabilities and habits acquired through time in harmony between man and the immediate environment and the totality of the tangible and intangible products aspects of their being. The Monolith Festival is a showcase of the way of life of the Khasis, where diversities in dialect, geography, religious
beliefs, dance, music, the arts and food come together in a celebration of the unity of their belonging. The festival will bring together 53 kingdoms of the Khasis to one common stage of cultural display. It will be a treat of the senses for visitors driven by an interest in learning about the myriad aspects of culture, to go on a path of discovery of their roots or to come just out of pure natural curiosity with the willingness to indulge in what the festival has to offer.
