Moksha - The Final Frontier of Odissi

Moksha, meaning "liberation," is the concluding item of a traditional Odissi repertoire. After the technical complexity of Pallavi and the emotional depth of Abhinaya, the dancer surrenders to pure rhythm and spiritual ecstasy.

In this piece, the dancer moves with increasing speed, mirroring the soul's journey toward the ultimate truth. The performance ends with a "Shanti Mantra," a prayer for universal peace, leaving the audience in a state of tranquil reflection.

In Indian aesthetics, Abhinaya is the art of leading an audience toward a sentiment or rasa. Through subtle facial expressions (Mukhaja) and intentional gestures (Angika), Tanushree translates the deep commitment and raw essence of this romantic melody into a living story.
Guided by GuruMaa Rimi Bhowal, this performance blends the modern appeal of a Bollywood hit with the timeless expressive techniques of traditional Indian dance. In this piece, every look and hand gesture carries a world of meaning directly to the heart.
