led several people.People believed that the epidemic was the result of the anger of Mother Goddess(Ammavaru).To stop this floods Mr Krishna Prasad the than Prime Minister of Hyderabad offered the prayers to the Ammavaru then the floods came down and from the every year in Ashadam people of Hyderabad and Secunderaband started offering the Bonam to safe gaurd from all evils.THe offerings consist of cooked rice,jaggery,curd,water and other dishes which are brought in the pots and are given to the Amavaru in the temples.. Bonala Jathara is held on Sundays,Tuesdays and Thursdays during Ashada masam in Andhra Pradesh,especially in Telangana region.Simhavahini Mahankali Amma Vari Bonala Jathara is tht Biggest Cultural Event in South India. During Bonalu Ghatotsavam, Kolupu potharaju Bali, Potharaju Swagatham, Rangam and Saganamputa(farewell) are the main events of rituals. Eye catching Potharaju dances, Teen maar beats, and devout women carrying bonalu (sacrified pots) give tremendous impression on colourful cultural feast. People from other states - Maharashtra, Karnataka, Orissa and Tamilnadu also participate in the festival. Large number of foreigners gather during the Bonalu Jathara at Simhavahini Mahankali Amma Vari Temple in Laldarwaza.
