കേരള സംസ്ഥാന സാംസ്കാരിക വകുപ്പിന് വേണ്ടി കേരള സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമി സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഇൻ്റർനാഷണൽ ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ ഓഫ് കേരള (IFFK) ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മികച്ച ചലച്ചിത്ര മേളകളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. പ്രേക്ഷക പങ്കാളിത്തം കൊണ്ട് അറിയപ്പെട്ട IFFK ലോകമെമ്പാടുമുള്ള സിനിമകളെയും സംവിധായകരെയും ഡെലിഗേറ്റുകളെയും ആകർഷിക്കുന്നു.
1996-ൽ കോഴിക്കോട്ട് ആരംഭിച്ച IFFK, ഇപ്പോൾ എല്ലാ വർഷവും ഡിസംബറിൽ തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് നടക്കുന്നു, ഏഷ്യ, ആഫ്രിക്ക, ലാറ്റിനമേരിക്ക എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള സിനിമകളും ലോകത്തെയും മലയാളത്തിലെയും മികച്ച സിനിമകളും പ്രദർശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിൽ ഫിലിം പ്രദർശനങ്ങൾ, റിട്രോസ്പെക്റ്റീവുകൾ, വർക്ക്ഷോപ്പുകൾ, ഇൻ്ററാക്ടീവ് സെഷനുകൾ എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.
മികച്ച ചിത്രത്തിനുള്ള 'സുവർണ ചകോരം' മികച്ച സംവിധായകനും നവാഗത സംവിധായകനുമുള്ള 'രജത ചകോരം)' നെറ്റ്പാക്ക്, ഫിപ്രസി, അവാർഡുകൾ തുടങ്ങിയ മറ്റ് അംഗീകാരങ്ങളും പ്രധാന അവാർഡുകളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. ലൈഫ് ടൈം അച്ചീവ്മെൻ്റ് അവാർഡിലൂടെ സിനിമയിലെ മികച്ച സംഭാവനകളെ ആദരിക്കുന്നു.
The International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy for the Department of Cultural Affairs, is one of India's top film festivals. Known for people-participation, it attracts films, directors, and audiences worldwide.
IFFK, launched in 1996 in Kozhikode, now takes place annually in December in Trivandrum, showcasing films from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the best of World and Malayalam cinema. The festival includes film screenings, retrospectives, workshops, and interactive sessions.
Major awards include the Golden Crow Pheasant (Suvarna Chakoram) for Best Film, Silver Crow Pheasant (Rajata Chakoram) for Best Director and Debut Director, and other accolades like the NETPAC and FIPRESCI awards. A Lifetime Achievement Award honors outstanding contributions to cinema,etc.
